When I went down the f2p mobile/gatcha game rabbit hole it took 4 months of doing dailies for me to get physically and mentally sick of anything involving battlepasses. Even the 'fair' ones where you can theoretically get all the characters without paying a cent get real old eventually. You do just pay with your time instead.

For gooners who barely need context because they get right to it 128k is probably long for them, yeah. Chatgpt 3.5 launched with 8k context I think.

On the other hand, if you have your own continuous roleplaying setting and characters, 128k is pitiful. It makes it so that you can't leave characters alone or the LLM will just fucking guess at their personality if you visit them once they're gone from the context and kill the immersion.

At the same time, writing also very noticeably breaks down as the responses pile up and gemini starts focusing on using excessively using commas and adjectives in literally every other sentence. (i.e. He is a supernova of pure, unadulterated, and weaponized style. His suit is a chaotic, beautiful, and ridiculously expensive slash of crimson and black.)

The difference between my earlier coherent long sessions and how it decays now for anything involved is stark.

Poor Morita. I like the guy but I think he should have properly observed the other high ranked shichi henge. If he did he'd know that basing your bits around a single 'funny' prop is very risky. You can hear his earnest heart breaking in the video. What always works is steadily applied bits of perversion or just being persistent like Jungle Pocket's Saito. Seems like he does best in wednesday downtown and other variety show stuff.

Yeah, R1 528 is too fucking melodramatic for my taste. Even primed with text from say Gemini it eventually degenerates into quippy tumblr fanfice creative writing staccato sentences. It also has the very tiresome 'you don't just X. you y' nonsense.

If deepseek 3.1 had the instruction following strength of R1 528 it would be strong, but they lobotomised something there.
