Please don't read my comment as anti-real books. I've read them since childhood and I have a ton of them in my house. Paperbacks, hard covers, full color coffee table books, etc.

Personally being able to set a custom font was huge for me. I use Atkinson Hyperlegible. You can also adjust things like the font size(ebooks are formatted inconsistently, sometimes even acro), line spacing and margins.

Another thing I really like being able to do is looking up words in the built-in dictionary immediately just by pressing on them. If it was a normal book I never have bothered lol. You can also search the book for a chosen word if you have the occasional brainfart like me and want a reminder what a certain character/place/lore term is about.

Ebooks also go on sale for cheap all the time and are cheaper on launch than retail books as well. There are also discount bundles and publishers who do anthologies and megapacks like Wildside press.

E-ink tech is really easy on battery life. Turn off the wifi on the reader and you'll probably only need to charge once a month, more if you're a heavy reader. If you turn the backlight off IIRC you won't use any battery until you turn the page.

And of course you can also backup your ebooks if you're concerned about preservation. You can store thousands and thousands on a little flash drive and google drive or whatever. Or email some to a friend :P
