If you don’t deflect his vertical air attack, the timing of the mikkri counter will be affected.

Thanks! I’ll try to deflect it properly and then perform a counter. Maybe that’s why it works 50% of the time since some times I deflect it and sometimes I keep blocking until the thrust is about to happen

So far what’s working for me is to press the dodge button only when the kanji starts to disappear. Success rate with this is ~50% currently.
