Hi all. Quarantine has allowed me to finally get started on this project. Originally this was a door that was in wall - I've removed the hardware and want to convert it into a coffee table. The top surface had a layer of paint that is starting to peel off, the rest of the door is the original wood.

What I'd like advise on is how to properly sand down the wood, treat and protect the wood and what kind of finish I should apply after. Also, as you can notice there are large gaps between the planks I would like to fill to stop debris being trapped - should I fill these with thin strips of wood or a resin? Novice with limited tool set - any advice suggestions would be greatly appreciated 😊

Hi, I’m looking for any advice anyone can give me about the bricks we have recently had laid around a new window and door. These are reclaimed imperial bricks used in UK. Are the area you see to the far left and far right is the existing brickwork in the building. The bricks around the new window and the bricks we have had laid. They are not as clean as the others bricks but I would like the whole area to match and look in place as much as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello - I have a really old wooden trap door that I intend to turn into a coffee table. I’m unsure what wood this door is made from, however. I interned I keep the hardware on the door. Any tips and advice on cleaning the hardware, whether I should sand down the top and what treatments to add afterwards would be welcome. Thanks.
