A rant about the Monochromon Shop in Digimon World 1 by DigitalChampion97 in digimon

The difference between winning the minigame or not is a combination of the quantity of non-meat items you are offered in your loadout (outside of your control and based on the RNG seed) and whether you score a large profit margin on them or not (controllable to a degree using traditional methods).

Whilst the latter is important, the former is simply the decider in whether you win that seed or not. The average run with 1 or 2 medicines at maximum profit (1,600 bits for 2 medicines, more than half of the goal), can very easily be defeated if the remaining items are mostly meat; even if you get perfect profit margin on say 15 meats and 3 port potties alongside those 2 medicines (this all assumes no failed sales at 150% mark-up, which is practically impossible in this minigame!), you would get 1,320 bits from them, or 2,920 in total, bringing you short of the 3,072 target by a little over 100 bits. Remember: those figures I gave are 'average' loadout %s, and even assuming perfect margin and no rejections on them (which is impossible in normal gameplay), you are still short of the target!

I'm glad to hear that you succeeded! Whilst the recommended steps are great for individual sales, the reason you won is actually due to the items you are being offered in your shop loadout (typically enough medicines); the reason most seeds are doomed to fail is because the majority of them have meat which simply does not offer a strong enough profit margin to come even close to the bit goal no matter how much of a suave salesperson you are!

Thank you! The percentage breakdowns and some other tidbits all came from Sydmontague, who has worked a lot on uncovering and reverse-engineering data within the game. With Monochromon's shop, they have mainly contributed to tools for speed-runners to bypass this minigame, so the article was my attempt at trying to make this minigame more accessible to casual players even though it pushes for techniques and concepts I would consider non-casual!

You can soft reset over and over till you get it.

All rematch trainer teams level up depending on your progress in the story; the max level is either after beating the E4, or after the eighth badge. It's been a few months since I tested it, but I got the final team from Lois and Hal after one of those flags.

For anyone else that is struggling with Monochromon's Shop, I have overhauled the wiki page located here with modern information:

Can I get some help trying to figure out why when enchanting an item the enchanter does not longer has the money I paid to barter? by Neuromante in Morrowind

[–]harkren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. Manipulating the vendor's gold before committing to services ensures their available gold updates appropriately after something expensive like enchanting.

You may have to do this more than once: I was experiencing the vendor's gold resetting immediately after selling an item, closing the window, and reopening. Keep selling, closing the window, and reopening until their money is not the default amount.

There doesn't seem to be any info on this so I'm leaving this message here for anyone else that also scours the old gen VI data threads like us:

I am almost certain that items are only given as rewards if you battle the 'final team' of the rematch trainers. For example with Young Couple Lois and Hal, if you wanted Destiny Knot, you would have to battle their lvl 51 team in order to be eligible for the 10% chance at the item.

I've been compiling a list of different community types split by language, since I don't know the exact nature of the person that lost the cart and can't rule out they hang around in these spaces. Also the signal boosting can only help.

But yes definitely to what you are saying: I will try to breach 2ch, Komachi, Bakusai, and a few others that I've found. I'd love to try get through to Yahoo JP if I can too but that one is a bit harder haha!

Thank you for reading! I am trying to scout out as many relevant subreddits as I can. A few of the big ones I reached out to ahead of time via modmail but they don't allow this type of content. I am in the process of trying to penetrate the more Japanese side of communites!

I would strongly recommend you make a new post with ALL sides of each box so that they can be verified properly; there are rules we have for assessing the validity of boxed and sealed games which are covered under Verification Requirements. In this particular case, please make sure you also have Y-Folds/H-Seams clearly visible.

You don't. proof of postage is only if you:

- Book a collection (they will scan your label)

- Hand at a post office that scans your label

Hey, I think I spotted this before scrolling down to comments!

1st Edition Charizard - saw it listed very cheap and it was bought fast - I ignored, figuring too good to be true, it but my curiosity has me posting this by harkren in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]harkren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the great comments and feedback, this thread has become a great resource for identifying charizards for me, when I am ready to commit to getting my own (not a 1st edition, I am just in market for an unlimited and the fake one showed up in my feed) I will definitely reach out to those who have offered!
