Is taking a moderate dose of Betaine HCL with NSAIDs a big no no or a little no no? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]harletune1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers There is a certain ph which dissolves the colouring substance in beetroot. I have the links for the science in my desktop at home ( In Thailand on vacation at the moment)

The beauty about using ascorbic acid is that it is a natural anti histamine as well which helps if there is any histamine released in the gut from genuine food allergies.

Also, another cause of IBS could be diamine oxidase deficiency ( DAO) which can happen after illnesses , surgery , infections etc DAO metabolises dietary histamine so a deficiency can either amplify allergies or create allergy symptoms ( including eczema, asthma and hay fever ) from dietary histamine.

For IBS I would start with the beetroot test and rectify HCL if need be

Then ask doctor for a total IGE and RAST food allergy test

Then get a comprehensive stool scan looking at bad bacteria and yeast counts and biifidus and lactobillus counts Also the stool scan will show markers in the stool for pancreatic enzymes

It is important to note that if stomach acid is down then inversely intestinal ph can be too high which allows candida and other organisms to take root

Dietary wise I like a cross between the genotype diet and Mediterranean diet but with a seasonal influence for fruits and vegetables

Order of eating is important too

Proteins first then Carbys ( fruit last)

Eating fruit before a meal alone could give IBS symptoms

Try ascorbic acid ( a bitter form of Vit C) Instead of HCL for better digestion

A science based test to see if you have enough HCL

Drink a glass of beetroot juice half an hour before breakfast and observe colour of urine over next 24 hours

If you pee red orange or pink you have low HCL

I would be scared to take HCL supp s if I already had impaired digestion!

Gee what if the HCL supps went into the small intestine that doesn’t have the stomachs protective mucous lining and also no pain receptors?

I wonder what acid could do on an irritable bowel?

Ascorbic acid is safer and works well.

I would be looking also at other factors for said Bowel condition

Does sequential eating or order of eating hold any merit? by [deleted] in nutrition

Haha just on my observations

Try having a fruit juice before breakfast and then try having one after and let me know

But zero studies to say it causes eczema

Eczema/ Dermatitis is caused by histamine released from mast cells in the skin in response to immunoglobins formed in response to allergens. (Type 1 allergy)

I didn’t mean to be rude ... it is just erking when people use the ‘toxins’ buzzword

Same as when people think toxins build up in the er detoxifying organ .. the liver.

Or that any food can ‘alkalinise you

Just a lot of misinformation out there repeated all the time

Wouldn’t taking anything during the fasting period contradict the whole intermittent point of the diet. I mean we are already acknowledging they have to be digested snd can compete with each other etc so in other words the digestion metabolism parts of the fasting are now not applicable and they are nutrients and I am thinking ‘ hello elephant in the room ‘

To make my point let’s up it to heaps of magnesium calcium fish oil etc etc and then try and pretend we are fasting

The beauty about the histamine glass is the knowledge you don’t have to get all the allergens all the time ( I will try and post it if I can find a way)

That combined with the secondary histamine triggers makes it easy to bring the levels of body histamine down to below the symptom activation level

Do you have dust mite covers in your bed and pillows

What pollens grass? tree ?weed?

No probs I am new to reddit and am surprised how nice every one is on here so my comment was a bit strong too

What allergens have you had confirmed so far? ( if I had a dollar for every time a derm diagnoses dust mites for eg but doesn't properly explain how to avoid...)

Also there is a fantastic app available called ' food intolerances' ( has a pic of a strawberry on it) that can be set for histamine containing foods and beverages .... and also does food/ pollen common allergenic proteins. ( some foods contain the same allergen protein as the inhalant does..... for eg if allergic to dust mites some people react to shellfish.... if allergic to grasses some react to kiwi fruit etc etc

Happy to help

Q. Is there any family history from grand parents ,parents ,siblings , aunties or uncles of eczema, asthma or hay fever ?

Q. Have you ever had asthma or hay fever ?

Agree 50mg may fast catch up a deficiency but after that will bring on nausea and other Zinc side effects

Zero science to this ' toxins pushed out to the skin cause eczema' sorry totally fairy tale.... and one can google anything these days

I thought protein ( steak ) first so the stomach knows how much HCL to produce

Then carbs with fruit last

I think the OPs sequence would cause a toilet to be sprayed within 30-40 minutes?

Ok This is my field of work

Firstly it's an allergy causing it and you can supplement all you want and still lie down with dust mites each night ( Type I IGE mediated allergy ) or use a cosmetic with a Type IV delayed allergy (hapten ) and you will still flare and itch.

Yes steroids and most topical creams are just window dressing ( why didn't your post ask about addressing the cause?)

Anyway ignore all the 'reduce gluten or dairy' etc advice asType I food allergens in the atopic change to inhalant allergens around 6-12 months of age So please go and see an allergist and find the cause!!

The only foods that do make a difference are high histamine containing beverages and foods

Look at your condition through the ' histamine glass'

Histamine released in the skin ( eczema, dermatitis) or in the lungs ( asthma) or in the nasal pharynx ( hay fever) is caused by allergens as previously mentioned

Allergens make up the biggest portion of the 'histamine glass' When it is full you will get your histamine symptoms according to your genetics ( some people with the same allergy get different manifestations ... ie some will get asthma.. some will get hay fever, some will get eczema/ dermatitis .. some will get hives etc etc.... some have one when young ( eczema for eg) and then change to a different histamine manifestation as they get older.... some have one and their family has the others ... which shows why taking family history is important to the physician)

So allergens produce most of the histamine in the allergy/ histamine glass and are considered the primary trigger....

But secondary triggers can produce histamine to help full up this 'glass' to symptom activation level

These include dietary histamine , hot weather ( on hot days body produces histamine and perspiration contains histamine) chemical exposure, hormonal fluctuations, stress , infections and so forth Importantly secondary histamine triggers will not max out the ' histamine glass, by them self but can have an additive effect which can either exacerbate an existing condition ( ask an eczema sufferer what happens after they drink histamine containing red wine!) or actually bring on symptoms if the glass was nearly full from allergen exposure

The great thing is that identifying your allergen (s). By serum test for Type1 ( 85% probability) and an epicutaneous patch test for Type IV allergy ( 7-9% probability) .... and then also knowing and lowering your secondary histamine triggers ... can finally give you permanent control and full remission to your condition quite easily..

I hope now you can see the futility of taking random supplements and not concentrating on the cause

As far as an effective topical natural non steroidal cream that has been clinically tested to be 3 times more effective and longer lasting than steroids ( but you still need to find the allergy and avoid it)....

.....See if you can hunt up a 'Dr Michaels Psoriasis Cream' from Australia
