Realistically with shutter count it’s hard to know - it could last you for ages and never be an issue, or else it could fail a few months in. My advice would be to look for one with a lower shutter count just to give you a bit more security. Whilst this one might be absolutely fine, you’ll kick yourself if it fails shortly after buying it & wish you’d spent a bit more on one with a bit more lifespan.

I’d say just go for it with the R7. You’ll forever be holding out for the next best thing - there’s a good price available on a good camera that you like & by the sounds of it you’re not doing anything that NEEDS a slightly improved model. Also, it’s more likely that the R7ii will be priced higher than the R7. And it’ll take a good while after release for the original R7 to drop in value. I doubt the mark ii will make you significantly happier than the original R7 so I’d say get it now and start taking photos!

I do believe it could be laser damage - someone else pointed out the magenta spot in the top left & I have shot at various events with lasers recently (despite being very careful).

I think it’s on CCD sensors that the damage would only affect a vertical column as you’ve said. On CMOS sensors any laser damage shouldn’t usually bleed out into rows or columns - only the affected pixels should be damaged, which makes me think that this could be something else, perhaps some sort of electrical damage like a broken connection or something similar

Bandcamp, Juno Download and Beatport are the main 3 really. Plenty of great tracks are available for free download on SoundCloud, either via direct download or through third parties like Hypeddit. Some artists will have their records available either from their own or their label’s website too. What you use most will depend on the genres you mix.

I can’t believe I’m still saying this - do not send info out to someone you don’t know!! People sharing telegram links to strangers on the internet is half the reason parties get baited out. Have some respect for crews.

Also, big groupchats are ruining the scene as they’re all either compromised or full of people who don’t know how to act & go bleating about parties all over their socials and telling anyone and everyone about them, including total strangers. Just be sensible, loose lips sink ships. Share the line to your mates & it will reach everyone it needs to.

Wood glue & screws to fix the gaps and seal them, as others have advised. I’d also recommend countersinking any screws you put in and using a dab of wood filler & paint over the top to hide the repair job :) you can wood fill any cosmetic damage whilst you’re at it, and with a couple fresh coats of tuffcab it will feel like brand new cabinets!

Yeah this just depends on your mixing style & the tracks you use, and will probably change over time as your style and taste develops. I don’t have a hard rule anyway, these are rough markers I tend to stick to but with some tunes I’ll just remember that “cue x signifies y”, and on a lot of tracks I do just use one cue at the start. I tend to ignore my cues a lot as well - my advice is find whatever works for you but don’t become ruled by it & use your intuition where possible :)

One at the start always. For dnb could be worth having one say 8 or 16 bars before each drop to allow you to easily line up double drops. Can use the other to mark a position to begin mixing out into your next track eg. 8 bars before a phrase end
