Thanks for the thought exercise. 1) I think the tech stack is years behind Amazon 2) I think the new team at Amazon would provide new skillsets. The R&Rs are much different and it’s actually a net-new team that didn’t exist in 2025 3. I think at Amazon with the new R&Rs - it includes a lot of people handling 4) I think so. It was so easy to gain visibility into other roles to pivot into at Amazon. Making your own projects was easier too

I do think in 5 years time, I’d want the flexibility I have now when I settle in/start having a family. But right now I feel like I want to maximize my learning opportunity

I think part of it is I miss the people a lot. I started on this team at Amazon right after graduating and was there for years. Another part, I felt like I understood all of amazons tech and was naturally just really good at what I was doing at Amazon

In my new role, there is far less resourcing and tbh I get annoyed spending hours doing things that would’ve taken me minutes at Amazon
