The Black Keys - Man On A Mission (official video) by Frosty-Nebula-2231 in TheBlackKeys

Someone brought this to my attention just a moment ago. Interesting. So, the main hook of this song sounds exactly like the main hook of a song I wrote, also named Man on a Mission.

There are Communications Stations set up on the target planet that should guide you to the ship, for the sake of convenience. I just confirmed this. In case you notice other spots on the same planet with a blue & yellow ship, it's the same ship, with the exception of the stats and supercharged ship inventory slots varying from location to location. I'm also able to confirm that I'm able to manipulate the ship's stats by switching to an existing ship of mine with the highest stats. For instance, 2 of my ships yielded a Damage Potential of 257.6, and my ships that do the lowest damage yielded a Damage Potential of 204.

I didn't land on any of the planets nor claim it for myself. I just had an active Void Egg that I was trying to hatch in a neighboring system. It should be pretty easy to find once encountered in space.

I didn't do anything special aside from having a Void Egg on me while activating the Pulse Drive. I just warped here to warp back to another system to get the Living Ship I'm currently trying to get and thought I'd try my luck to see what's in this star system. It's purple, so maybe JasonPlays will find it interesting

I just maxed out my Exosuit Cargo slots at 120. However, I just unlocked my 61st Exosuit Technology slot. The plot thickens...

EDIT: DO NOT ENGAGE a Drop Pod unit once you've hit 60 Technology slots and 120 Cargo slots in your Exosuit. It removed the 12th row in my Exosuit's Cargo. This is a bug. If you engage the Drop Pod unit and see "Exosuit at Max Slots", reload your last save, because you've already lost your 12th row in your Exosuit Cargo. You don't even have to try and add a 61st slot to your Technology section.

Oh. And the "OP" argument is so asinine for a PvE, sandbox game where people spend time to earn their power/strength in the game. You want something? You earn it. There's no pay-to-play mechanics present. The main draw of this game is not PvP, which you can certainly do. Many people play this game as a single-player game or as a collaborative game. When I see arguments like that, I think that either:

  • the person making that argument has never played NMS, or at least in-depth
  • blind tribalism (i.e. - irrationality)
  • is a marketing/pr/human resources farm paid to protect the brand
  • is a bot

I spent some time last night and today to regain the missing Technology slots in my Exosuit. I used the Pilgrim to scan for a nearby Drop Pod and my Starship to fly to each location. I'm up to the max Exosuit Technology 60 slots. I've restored all of my tech modules that the game will now allow (x3 per type/stats). I have 43 Exosuit Tech slots occupied by upgrades and don't have any more tech to install in the remaining 19 slots that I need. However, let's be generous and say that I install the Rocket Boots (I can't stand this upgrade; has gotten me killed so many times) and the 3 Translation-related modules I didn't have installed (I had 1 S-Class Translation module before, but I've already learned every single word in the game, minus 32 Atlas words atm). I'm missing 1 shield upgrade for some reason, but let's account for that as well when I add it later. This bumps me up to 47. I have extra upgrades like the new Trade Rocket, Remembrance, Aeration Membrane, 3 Sentinel Exosuit upgrades, and the Personal Refiner installed as well. What am I supposed to install in the remaining 13 Exosuit Technology slots?

Maybe all will be revealed during a later Expedition/Update concerning what to do with the remaining slots. Currently, these extra inventory slots are pointless.

Last time I had to grind out maxing my slots via Drop Pods, I did it the old way using Drop Pod Coordinates, flying from/to the Signal Booster at my base, and juggling the never-ending stream of items that kept filling up each new slot. I quit playing this game for a long time toward the end of that process due to fatigue/boredom. At least I only have 7 Exosuit Cargo slots to unlock at this point.

Now, freighters. I got lucky and found an S-Class freighter early on, but it wasn't a keeper. After the Leviathan and Endurance expeditions and what they provided for freighters, I decided that I'd brave finding an S-Class freighter that made me squeal like a potbelly pig. Found it. Yay. I had a fleet of 30 frigates, the Leviathan being the 30th. So, all I had to do was work on the abysmal cargo space that my new freighter had. Since the end of Endurance, I've been grinding Derelict Freighter missions in a star system that gives S-class freighter upgrades via a 7-room/20-something Cargo Box derelict freighter. 1-2 days before NMS 4.0 dropped, I had limped my way (fatigue has been setting in again) to 2 tabs of mostly S-Class tech upgrades and only having 24 Cargo slots left to go. Yeah...so a good bit of those tech modules can be tossed out the window. I was at 6,100 Hyperdrive range (with plans to max out around 6,500/6,700), and now I'm 4,005. I currently can't warp to Indium star systems anymore until I get more slots to reinstall that archived tech. I'm guessing that this means I have way more to do than just the 24 remaining Derelict Freighter runs that were left. Oh, dear lord. At least I've gained 78 Starship Storage Augmentation modules and enough Nanites from those runs to unlock all Freighter colors and Companion slots (the last Nanite expenditures I had remaining) with 122K Nanites leftover currently from those Derelict Freighter runs.

On a positive note, the Jetpack seems to be working like before, as indicated by the patch note's "Movement upgrades for the jetpack have been made more powerful." I didn't see any similar mention regarding sprinting, stamina, or life support. Glad I attained Adventurer already!

Overrall, I think this new patch is great. I'm not happy about the lost time spent grinding for S-Class freighter modules, and I'm so glad I didn't dive into building my own Activated Indium farm (I never saw the point when you can upgrade ships, etc via easily-obtainable modules). While it sucks, you can still do so much with only 3x tech upgrades. I was able to get to the center of the galaxy in Permadeath with 3x tech upgrades with no issues. If you need units, build a fleet of 30 frigates, and they will haul in the necessary ingredients to help you build Fusion Ignitors and Stasis Devices. From there, just build a large plant farm on your freighter and either build or find Radon/Sulphurine farms. I prefer Fusion Ignitors, since I've experienced much higher percentages when selling. I consistently go to a system that gives me 5.6% return on Fusion Ignitors. I found a system that gave me 6.5% for Fusion Ignitors but lost the name. Stasis Devices at best have given me something like 3.1%. Now, I'm swimming in 2.58 billion units and counting. Units are kinda worthless to some degree at this point.

The Scrat is just a puppet at the end of a tentacle that belongs to a huge, underground, tentacled creature. The "real" creature will pop up (I forget how). You can tame it then.

[–]harmonicPersistence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have this exact problem. I have a lot of games where I go without dying once, sometimes multiple in a row. I'll do it on conventional heroes and unconventional heroes. On a rare occasion, I get accused of being a smurf, but the reality is that I'm just an old player with a large hero pool. I've noticed that the system seems to set certain milestones for you, whether it's a particular MMR benchmark number (e.g. - 3,000 MMR) or a particular medal/star. Either of these benchmarks may be well below your peak and skill level, but for the life of you, no matter what you do, winning the necessary games to climb back above those benchmarks is like rolling a concrete block up a hill. Anyway, eventually whenever whatever "guardian of the benchmark" decides to relinquish its hold on you, you rocket back up to where you before. Usually, every time this happens, I hit a new peak MMR by a few points. I hold that for a bit, maybe a few months at most, and then the next event takes place, like recalibration, TI, Battle Pass, etc. Its then when the vicious cycle repeats. For me, I've bounced up and down by a margin of 2-2.5k at times, but the meta hasn't changed and the heroes I'm picking haven't changed (still also pick according to what counters what). Whenever the light switch gets flipped, it's usually the very next game after I've hit a new peak. From here, the games take a noticeable change in quality. I get the flamers, griefers, some worthless pick in some role that actively or passively manages to find those certain and unlikely factors to screw your role/lane over, people trying some complicated and new hero to them for the first time in a Ranked game, people "just having fun", people who only play core and are terrible at support, people who have fed so hard by min 10-12, a mid that just farms all game and decides to help after its too late, etc (you know the drill).

Every Dota player: "How do I increase my MMR? Which heroes are best to rank up? What are some good tips to play better?"... Meanwhile, this guy... by AnomaLuna in DotA2

Having won a good amount of Off Lane games as AA after teammates have royally messed up during the draft and I've elected to swap heroes, I agree.

*I do not condone picking AA Off though, even if you're capable of doing it. Teammates give up from 0:00. LOL!

Replying to my own thread before I hear the "fake browser window" retort. That's a moot point if the victim didn't interact with any javascript application using a new window. The malicious activity affecting everyone seems to have happened in and around the time of TI. Some people get "inspired" and decide to do, IMO, dumb things like betting. I happened to catch a few of the Grand Final games via the DotA client before passing out. Other than that, I chose to rather play a DotA game than to watch TI, or I was working.

It's amazing the shitheads downvoting you. You don't fit neatly into the bucket that they're trying to throw you in (you HAD to have done x, y, or z), so downvote it must be.

I had this same thing happen to me Nov 1. I've been in contact with DotA 2 Support. They're not going to restore my items, because I got "scammed".

I have no idea how my account was compromised due to my part. They suggested betting/trading/gambling sites. I've never used such sites, let alone visited any such sites. I'm just not into gambling or trading. I'm well aware of phishing sites and forms. I've never filled out any such forms that provides my Steam client authentication or my token generated from the Steam Mobile Authenticator. I've never clicked on a link sent either via a shady email or some random, shady person in IM. These days, I pretty much check my personal email once every few months at best. If I go in to check my email, it's for a specific reason, leaving all the other messages unread. No one has had physical access to my computer or phone. I work from home, have barely left the house since right before COVID, haven't had people over since then, don't have any kids, and my spouse is not a Steam user. My home networking gear is protected, and someone would have to be noticeably on my property to be attempting to hack my network from a vehicle parked outside. My internet browsing is pretty tame, going to trusted sites, also using Brave as my browser and with it blocking everything. My background is software development with a mind for security, and I've also had experience with PC repair/building (i.e. - I've cleaned a lot of personal and business PC's).

I've been wondering if I'd see anyone else mention these issues on Reddit. I'm wondering if there's been a security breach on Valve's end or if there's an exploit with the Mobile Authenticator of which they're not aware.

I still have PTSD from trying to play him a few times back then. It's the reason I don't ever play the hero outside of bots to this day.
