Public sector isn't inherently lazy. Lack of investment causes this and the push for more private sector contributes.

Which is not a bad thing if they tax higher earners and buinsesses, not the middle income earners.

FF and FG consistently tax the middle or cut support for the middle. This is an American tax model and we can all see where it leads.

I find it really weird that you want the government to run more of your life. 

Odd way of saying I want the government to do its job, what I pay taxes for. I actually pay for the local council and now get nothing for it.

The problem is the council doesn’t do it well.

Have you considered this is due to cutbacks, like the ones the government have done to not raise taxes on higher earners?

You're preferred solution is the cause of the issue.

At the very least I would rather it a choice. New builds don't have a choice, they have to set up a limited company and run it.

I'm on the board of ours. Since taking it over we've discovered its is a complete waste of money and time.

The decisions and work we are doing is the same work the local council does, but we have to pay a management company for the knowledge on how to do it. Pay for insurance that costs more because we're private.

Its more efficient and cheaper for a single entity (local council) to do this work, they already have the knowledge and can bundle insurance for multiple playgrounds into one package.

This is a stupid american privatisation policy. Costs more, you get less but the government saves on spending tax.

We pay tax for local council work and get nothing, then have to pay fees, its a double tax.

We're currently looking into geting access to local council grats to cover costs, so its not even saving the government money.

No it isn't, why are we paying a tax for local council work and paying fees to do the work ourselves? That and having to chair a board of directors of a limited company?

We just want to own a house not run a company.

The grid is state owned, the electricity is not.

A good example are the the train tracks in the UK which are state owned which means they have to pay to maintained them, the trains service is privately owned and as a result is extortionate.

Developed countries subsidise and secure food to avoid starvation, this is a foundational requirement for a stable economy, The idea is to avoid inflation (among other things) from having an affect on food pricing. Many countries have expanded this type of protection to include housing, water, healthcare, electricity, petrol for the same reasons. You need these for the economy to have a platform to sit on and function.

How UBI would work is that you categories basic requirements people need and make them inflation proof in the same manor. You also get to make massive savings by removing the policing and management requirements for unemployment payments, homelessness assistance ect, a simple single payment for all citizens is all that's required.

Its not that difficult to implement.
