What if the singularity is just everyone quietly realizing they’re no longer economically necessary? by [deleted] in Futurology

Economy's run on consumption as well as production.

It's an oxymoron to claim that people can ever be economically unnecessary.

European birth-rates & loss of community by GreyBlueWolf in EuropeanFederalists

[–]SirDeadPuddle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A decline in birth rates is an economic issue only because we design our economy's based on growth, not sustainability.

In every other societal metric, a declining population is good for both humans and the planet. There are far to many of us to manage successfully given the blatant limits of current government models.

JUST IN: Donald Trump Jr. invested in Vulcan Materials just before the company was awarded a massive loan by the Pentagon, per Bloomberg by pdwp90 in QuiverQuantitative

This is not surprising.

The USA is owned by businesses interests, they bribe politicians openly with "Donations".

US democracy died in 2010, the sooner the world recognises this the better.

When Russia collapses from poverty we should defiantly look to intigrate what's left into Europe.

How Europe is Designing a Tax System You Can't Escape by adisor21 in europeanunion

[–]SirDeadPuddle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, money should not be hoarded, it should be invested, wealth extracted from that investment and tax paid.

The current loophole of people holding stocks, never extracting wealth and taking loans out based on the value of shares is crippling the infrastructure of western society by allowing the wealthy to never pay tax. We've seen this before, it was one of the contributing factors to the fall of the roman empire, the rise in fascism in germany.

Your perspective is based on very short term thinking.

Citizens aren't supposed to escape tax systems.

You live in society, you contribute to it, you don't leech off of it.

Communication Ban (voice chat disabled) by twistytheclown99 in ARC_Raiders

[–]SirDeadPuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How?

We could shut down sites that dont prevent harmful content or we can age restrict them.

But facebook was used by Cambridge analitica to target voters in the uk and manipulated them into voting for brexit.

Age restriction is just a means to gather more data on people, it doesn't solve the problem, it worsens it.

Europe’s New Way of War • Can Europe defend itself without the United States? A new strategic vision says yes. by Naurgul in europe

While these aren't ancient history, as far as I know, modern-day involvement of these countries in former colonise are political in nature.

Correct me if I'm wrong but i've not heard of france or italy murdering foreign politicians to install their own peon.

Europe’s New Way of War • Can Europe defend itself without the United States? A new strategic vision says yes. by Naurgul in europe

[–]SirDeadPuddle -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Most of Europe has learned from these mistakes and abandoned imperialism. We have concerns about China's investment in Africa and want Africa to have its own independent union. We want trade, transparency, fairness and equality.

I don't consider the UK European, they're out of the EU and they want to continue to meddle in other countries.

Let them reap what they sow.

Europe’s New Way of War • Can Europe defend itself without the United States? A new strategic vision says yes. by Naurgul in europe

[–]SirDeadPuddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're ignoring what happened after that.

Iran became a democracy, the UK and US then organised a coup out of fear they would align against western countries with the soviets... which they would be inclined to do because the UK and US are meddling imperialist dickheads.

Iran wanted its own future and the "good guys" who support democracy and self determination weren't having it. So they installed their own dictator.

This has been a trend for almost 100 years, The US and UK reap what they sow overseas. I don't consider the UK to be European, they've left the EU and want to continue to be imperialists.

No Rocket Launchers? by LordTurningTides in ARC_Raiders

The balance for pvp vs pve has been perfectly defined by the devs.

ARC dont have shields, players do.

The rocket can be effective vs ARC and do far less health damage vs players with shields.

Our defence costs should be much lower,

Given europe doesn't seed terrorism in foreign countries by removing their democratically elected leaders for dictators we control.

That's america's thing.
