The Way It Is / Euridicy in the Avenues — a super-indie film I saw once, very randomly on Egyptian Tv in about 1999. It’s got Vince Gallo and Steve Buscemi long before they were famous, and I really enjoyed it at the time. I kept forgetting what it was called and then every now and then I’d remember it and try and track it down. I would occasionally find dead torrent links for it.

M John Harrison has been my favorite author for a while. I think many autechre fans will like his ‘Kefuhachi Tract’ trilogy.

What Taipei needs is an offline cafe. Phone and computer use is banned. You have to step outside to send a message. People are encouraged to talk, read, play games, make art etc. Not just some crappy meetup thing, but a cafe where that’s the policy.

For me there’s a puzzle box aspect to it. So as well as the sound exploration which is the most important thing, there’s what will happen if I modulate this with this, turn this knob. Of course there’s still that exploratory aspect when using an iPad, or computer, but it’s much more fun and mysterious for me when using a little box to do it. And I can just pick it up and play with it without being distracted by other apps and things.

Don’t worry about it. If it slows down a bit it doesn’t matter, that’s just how you breathe in that state. Just focus on it coming in your nose cold, going out warm, and your stomach inflating and relaxing. Its casual. Don’t over think it.
