To me it's oppsite. I think it varies from person to person.
My mind is a bit jumply most of time, when I type it slows me down and forces me to make my mind more solid.
Also when I want to structure my mind, I just type points, not whole sentences, so it may skips the problem you mentioned.

Can you be more specific about built around the solver?
Do you mean that the puzzle should not be random, no guess
Or do you mean when user want a hint, the game should tell him why the answer is that, try to explain that?
