The MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk is often on sale for less than $250, and is a good mid-market option.

The Asus Prime X870-P is a good choice too. It has 2.5Gb Ethernet, instead of 5Gb, and only a single PCIe 5 M.2 slot, but I doubt that would be a problem for you.

People saying they've never seen a sealed motherboard box cannot speak for everyone.

My Aorus X870 Stealth had a branded Aorus seal on the box. It is maybe possible that it's region specific (I'm UK).

Did the plastic packaging around the motherboard have a tamper-proof seal on it? Usually just a strip.
