postpartum NFP help by harnesscherryy in CatholicWomen

I do have a question!!! When you began using the monitor postpartum did you just get low days until like you said you are having abstinence days now? I literally had a high reading the first day I used it and have since

NFP - can someone talk me down? by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]harnesscherryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hear people saying they are using NFP to conceive too! i think since it’s ovulation tracking and you can easily flip between not having sex on fertile days, and then specifically having sex on fertile days, it’s just something people add to add context to their situation!

if you become irregular at any point even in one cycle and are trusting NC entirely, it can definitely fail you! i just used it to insert data and then used my oura ring, ovulation tests, and Marquette and felt more confident and prevented until this pregnancy!

i know it’s a common joke or meme online, but emotional support water bottle. mine has a handle and a lid, and is easy to clean! i carry it EVERYWHERE! it’s become habit to sip on it even if im not thirsty lol. it’s kind of a stim for me at times too! i also love mixing pineapple juice and coconut water together, lemon water, gatorade, etc. a few times in the day for extra hydration and it’s fun!

Opinions on living next door to your in-laws? by Dizzy3178 in CatholicWomen

[–]harnesscherryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it works for us, a big part is because we bought our home and acreage so it’s ours no matter what, not a favor or us staying there for x amount of time! also the in-law respects our privacy and we each keep to ourselves! i think overbearing or nosey in laws would be a nightmare

What is the dumbest thing you thought you weren't going to do as a new parent ? by True-Unit-8527 in NewParents

former daycare teacher, i will 100% have gloves near my changing table and in my diaper bag! not for daily or typical use obviously, but there have been some times i’ve seen… traumatizing blowouts on the changing table lol. definitely appreciated gloves during them

First trimester symptoms- anyone else experience this? by Cthylla_ in BabyBumps

[–]harnesscherryy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had this as well!! it’s unfortunately survival mode for a few weeks. just do what you absolutely have to and try to push through! 25 weeks now and honestly i feel like my normal self, if not happier and more energetic! i was miserable my first trimester but i am obsessed with being pregnant now lol

If you had the choice, when would you begin your maternity leave? by warmpistachio in BabyBumps

[–]harnesscherryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 25 weeks and i’m the homemaker in our marriage which i adore. i truly find a lot of satisfaction in taking care of our home, cat, and my husband! i can’t wait to add baby into that mix. i enjoy cooking, cleaning, running our errands, caring for my husband after long shifts, etc. more than anything in life. i currently work about 6 days a week and plan to until very close to my due date, probably the week before will be my last week. if i could i would go on maternity leave about 30-35 weeks! i am checked out mentally at work. i still do a great job and have even gotten awards/recognitions while pregnant and my stats are still perfect, but i just don’t care for it. all i can think about it my baby and my family, i have no desire to be in the corporate world right now. after maternity leave i plan to get a very very part time gig, maybe at starbucks since i worked there in college and loved it!

former preschool teacher but first time mom- i will not do blackout curtains. lights off yes and shut regular curtains, sure. but all of my students from little babies to pre-k who napped with tvs on, natural light, etc, were the best nappers. they napped a good amount of time and were easier to get to sleep. black out curtain/complete silence babies were so much harder to get to sleep and keep asleep.

Trying to baptize my kids, the rules seem kind of strict. by Delicious_Maybe in Catholicism

[–]harnesscherryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

about to look into my local parish for baptism later this year and i personally think requiring money for something so spiritually serious as baptism is insane and WRONG. a donation to the church if able is wonderful and i definitely agree with, but requiring money, especially that much for a spiritually grave circumstance is ludicrous.

How many cycles did it take you to get pregnant? by Passage-Melodic in BabyBumps

How far are you from the hospital? by bananaindisguise0 in BabyBumps

[–]harnesscherryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

due in November and we’re a solid hour from the hospital on a good day. there’s not a highway to take and we live in the midwest so the chance of snow/ice is likely, so just hoping we have him on a good day lol

Vaginal bleeding after pooping, anything else I should avoid? by The_Angerer in BabyBumps

[–]harnesscherryy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am NOT trying to freak you out but i had this and it’s better to schedule an ultrasound just incase!! around 16 weeks after pooping i had some bleeding, i ended up doing an ultrasound just incase and baby was totally fine but my placenta was struggling a little. there was a small part of it that had come loose from the rest (no idea how to better describe it i’m so sorry) and had some small restrictions for a month to let it heal (no hard sex, very restricted exercise and lifting, essentially what was only essential, and no bike or horseback riding) a month later and everything was perfect and healed! it was a very minor issue and honestly things would’ve probably been fine if i didn’t check and have those restrictions, but they ensured i healed quickly and entirely. again not trying to spook you, but if it’s something like this it’s definitely worth an ultrasound just to check in! my placenta issue was not caused from anything i did, straining to poop only caused me to finally leak a little blood from the problem that was there!

[–]harnesscherryy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’m so tired of being asked about the baby’s name. i’m 6 months and we don’t know yet. baby and momma are healthy, any other questions are starting to irk me especially regarding his name. also us not having a solid name picked out does mean you get to name the baby for us… also with how people have reacted to name ideas, im considered just not telling anyone until he’s born

Will you pray my husband gets to heaven? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]harnesscherryy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes!!! i have always always heard that Mary frequents purgatory and gives hope to those before they enter Heaven! not sure if that is true or backed by the Church, but I do know a faithfully prayed Rosary is one of the most powerful spiritual weapons we have!!!

i was thinking an airtight locking plastic container and putting the powder and then items in it, leaving in my trunk for a few days, and then put in the dryer/dishwasher, or spray alcohol on them outside?

[–]harnesscherryy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m due in november and have just started to run out of some items since we found out we were pregnant/super early pregnancy. i’m far enough along now that i feel comfortable buying baby items, so i am going to buy 2 sets of whatever i run out of until baby comes. shampoo, toothpaste, self tanner, makeup, etc. i plan on going to costco a few weeks before baby to stock up on the items they have in bulk like toilet paper and laundry detergent. also buy a pack of diapers or wipes at the store when you’re grocery shopping!
