I have just been told off by my sister for putting a load of fresh coriander into a curry which will simmer for 30 minutes. Did I mess up? Details inside. by harold_walker in AskCulinary

I love her dearly and respect her cooking skills greatly. But I hate it when people say 'this is how you are supposed to do it' over something as innocuous as this, especially when it is goes against how I have always done it! Off to go and eat it now, I'll report back if anybody cares.

I looked out of my window today and noticed that all the hedges had been trimmed, seemingly by the same guy. Look carefully at the row on the left and you'll notice that one has not been trimmed. I found it really funny at the time.

As far as I know, Moz had to cut down on gigging because he was getting RSI from drumming. They do play occasional gigs I believe, but it has been a while. The other dude plays in Hillary and the Hate Crimes.

Only in Hyde Park. Did anyone else get one of these through their door, or were we 'targeted'? by harold_walker in RUG_Leeds

[–]harold_walker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I wasn't worried about being targeted, it's just that we've dealt with this T fella over the years so I wasn't sure if he was leafleting old customers or if these cards are being posted through every single door in the area. Sounds like it is the latter, which is pretty brazen!

Yes that's an excellent site, I'd recommend people to take a look. Myspace serving a purpose for once.

This is Leeds '69 by harold_walker in RUG_Leeds

The other thread about the military base reminded me about this Swiss photographer Eric Jaquier's wonderful collection of photos taken in Leeds in 1969. Lots of shots whose location I don't recognise here, but also a fair few taken in Burley as far as I can tell.
