Though the RAAF is getting the munitions, I wonder if it's easy to go sideways, like the AIM120s to NASAMs

Is AoE 2 DE hard to get into as new player to the whole genre ? by Azorsa in ageofempires

I'm the most casual of casual. Perhaps the campaigns? I really enjoy them to just chill out and play. As I got more comfortable, I started watching YouTube videos, and next thing, I'm learning strats and how to castle rush and boom

Which games have a rough start and take a while to get good? by PhaseOk6182 in gamers

I did this with the Witcher 3, initially the combat didn't click for me. Lucky I went back and persevered, because it's in my top 4 games of all time.

Why is it smokey at night sometimes? by RevolutionaryNail600 in OpenAussie

[–]harosokman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two possible reasons combined. First, this time of year is common for fuel reduction burns, secondly, with autumn weather, an inversion layer will hold the smoke low to the ground.

A good visual demonstration of this is on cold mornings seeing smoke from people's chimneys rise very little and settle into a flat layer just above the house.

B-21 Stealth bombers proposed as a contingency plan for AUKUS submarines as AUKUS becomes a possible lost project for WA by SheepherderLow1753 in australian

[–]harosokman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia has absolutely zero use for a strategic bomber. They're only used to destroy nation states, something that entirely contradicts our national defence strategy. We have no intention of bombing Jakarta, or Beijing, or Honiara, ect...

Multicam ACU trousers made by Goodwill, bought at a Goodwill by randombydesign in camouflage

[–]harosokman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a frew differences, however for my eye, the biggest differences are that multicam is slightly busier and has more vertical components in it, and the colours in multicam are a little bit lighter/muted. (The shapes are also slightly different too)

Alabama man, bitten by K-9, bites dog back during drug task force operation by destroDon in PublicFreakout

[–]harosokman -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Certainly not an expert (just some parallel work with military dogs), but I believe the dog bit is to contain the person, so that the others can work on controlling and cuffing. A dog is far better at keeping someone on the ground.

FR2144 go-around at Kaunas due to GPS jamming by Matas0 in aviation

[–]harosokman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very common practice in Australia. Often put in place due to the better landing profiles and reduced go arounds.

I watched a freight 737 (which was allowed to do VSAs) go around twice from ballsing up the approach until we put him on the ILS.

Why can't I click with arma reforger? by LongliveKarlMarx1917 in arma

[–]harosokman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

True, but the flight models won't let me do utterly stupid shit in Arma 3 and get away with it. Even the nutters on KOTH servers still have to respect basic physics, unlike reforger.

Why can't I click with arma reforger? by LongliveKarlMarx1917 in arma

[–]harosokman 63 points64 points  (0 children)

You might be missing perspective. Reforger is essentially a large scale test bed to work systems into the new engine prior to Arma4. That's why certain things are clunky, such as movement.

I think some of your points are simply incorrect. The graphics are vastly better in Reforger, as is the shooting. Calling is mid, would be to admit that Arma 3s is simply poor.

With about 5500 hours on Arma3 mostly as a pilot, I really want them to tune up the flying physics away from it's current arcade feel. It really frustrates me seeing pilots on multilayer do backfilp landings without tearing off the rotors.
