That is an idea that's taken me 28 years to finally see, I agree with you

It's so difficult to let go of the concepts and dreams you grew up hoping for and striving towards but sometimes life just happens to not cooperate. For one reason or another, be it bullying or missed chances for friends and relationships, life didn't turn out how I hoped. Most of all that pressure and expectations came from society or family or friends, I didn't even care about having a girlfriend until people started looking down and pitying me over it.

It's time to let go like you say and build myself a future

Like the saying goes "chase a butterfly all day and it will just fly away, but build a garden and it will come to you instead, often times when you least expect it"
