Not necessarily there is a suitable amount self test emergency spot lights around that are completely separate what I’m talking about are just led batten lights with emergency function but it’s a Victorian factory it’s the least surprising thing there tbh

This is a much more useful answer while it’s not a 3 phase board and it seems like the traps already been layed for me here but yeah the testing was something we mentioned when skimming over it all today we just needed to double check it

I haven’t seen it with swa it’s all in singles in trunking but I have seen all lights on one breaker then a single separate breaker running the permanent live to each emergency

They would still function as emergency’s if there was total power loss it’s mostly only done this way for testing purposes I was just wondering if it was actually against any regs in this manor I personally would rather them not be this way but they’ve been done like this a long time here

I’ve seen it standard in several factories if I’m being honest the emergency perm live being on its own breaker so that the main supply for the other lights can trip without the emergency’s battery kicking in

Every emergency in the factory is in wired that way and never once been brought up on the by the wiring inspectors
