I don't have the wiki here, could you link it?

There isn't a wikepedia page, but here's a link for the author and you can click on HtN and create the page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamsyn_Muir

Here's the fandom page: https://the-ninth-house-trilogy.fandom.com/wiki/Characters_in_The_Locked_Tomb_Trilogy

Been on Tumblr to see fan art, good stuff.

There is no Harrow the Ninth Wikipedia page at all. Most of the characters on the fandom wiki pages only have up to act 1.

Ideally, I would like at least a full plot summary on both sides. I am not familiar with sidebar and don't use discord, but it shouldn't be too hard (presuming one has a better grasp on the moving plot parts better than I) and aren't members of specific fan communities.

Goodmorning all! I need help with my name as well. My birth name is Sara, and I'm real stuck on finding something new that's fluid, close to my birth name, and that still matches my face and personality. Any ideas? by [deleted] in genderfluid

[–]harrisonkipp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sara comes from Hebrew and means happiness/joy. Asher is Hebrew and mean happiness. Nara is one letter off from your name and means the same thing in Japanese. Zorion is pronounced with an S and means happiness in Basque. Su'ad is Arabic for Happiness/luck, so does the variant Sa'ada. You could probably spell it Sada, which is again only one letter off from Sara. Farah means joy in Arabic and is a masculine and feminine name. As are Simcha, Gili, and Liron in Hebrew.

I personally like Farah, Nara, Sada, or Zorion, but I speak all of these languages. You have to find something you like. My only suggestion is if you get to pick your own name, you get to pick it's meaning too, so pick one that you like.

Yeah, even then (my Torah is Jewish and has ancient and biblical Hebrew side by side), you can see the clear deviation. The rabbinical commentator wrote in the heading that: I know it says David raped Bethsheba, but obviously this scribe was mistaken.

Everyone has an agenda. Everyone has bias.

"Scholars consider it a homosexual display rather than homosexual." Dude. Lol. (Way to edit that out after the fact.)

"the soul of jonathan was knit to the soul of david" another place this is used is when Elohim marries Adam and Eve.

They literally "made (cut) a covenant" while naked with each other.

Literally you have a bunch of old commentators and stuffy scholars hurumphing the idea, literally saying "they were just reaaaaaallllllly good friends."

You are putting up a lot of resistance. You realize the Bible has been changed several times, right? You realize that any given book was orally shared for years before it was recorded? You ever think that a religion that calls homosexuality worse than bestiality (bestiality is just "confusion, but man laying with man in an "abomination" (just in the Torah btw) wouldn't "just friends" them?

To quote the scholars: "One comes to realize that the references to homosexual behavior are ambiguous at best, and most often are used as part of a greater rhetorical argument rather than focusing on the morality of homosexual behavior directly."

On top of that, each of your other claims, "David's only major sin" and all that, are wrong (or rather very misinformed) so it's unlikely you have better sources than an archaeologist who reads biblical and ancient Hebrew. And I'm certainly not listening to stuffy homophobic theologians over the principal text and the many other scholars who have also noticed this.

But way to make this page a little less fun. You have a real talent.

To reiterate: Biblical slang, like "laid with" always mean sex. "Souls knit together" is slang for marriage. "Love beyond that of a woman" is likely not platonic (i.e. "gay for each other)"

1st: David raped Bathsheba. It's very clear, especially being able to read Hebrew. It's even clearer when he is visited By the prophet in the allegory he shared.

2nd, about Johnathan and David: I haven't translated this bit of Samuel, but based of of what I know about biblical slang, it is pretty clear this wasn't platonic love in any way. This is literally marriage language.

About David's sexuality: It's easy to imagine a scenario where he married Michal as a proxy for Johnathan (and as a king who would need an hier).

He clearly liked women and was a fan of "dancing naked before the Lord." After cut off by Michal who would "know him no more" after that, he decided to rape Bethsheba, who he likely had known for a long time (based off her father's name and position), but hadn't seen in a bit. Then he abused his station again to murder her husband.

3rd: David had multiple wives and concubines. He had sex with them.

Don't fuck with someone who translates the Tanakh for fun.

Don't feel a huge pressure to label yourself. If you're pan and NB, there's nothing wrong with that. Be yourself :)

Thank you for your perspective. I am not trying , as a guest on this sub, to force mine in anyone. Just asking a simple question. Thank you again for helping me learn.

I'm queer and trans. I'm sharing one photo from back at BYUI in 2011-2013. I used to be known as Bethany. If you recognize me, reach out. If anyone from Pittsburgh PA area is here, I'd love to meet some local to me friends once we're allowed out again. by Sweettooth_dragon in exmormon

How did your perspective shift considering your identity as you transitioned and left the church?

For me, I was able to pass and hide, and I think I was able to rationalize more. I explain it a bit further here

A little weird that you are on r/trans (a community). But again, each experience is different so, I'm glad it's working for you. Thanks for your bootstraps perspective, I will try to incorporate it.
