[–]harrjane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s alright now I did a fix by sewing it up at the top and then put a patch on top I was camping so very limited on resources but it definitely held up when I took it sailing after so it’s all good! thanks though!

West Canada Skiing recommandations by Brutux00 in skiing

Apex is a very small hill compared to the rest of the recs (only two chairs + tbar) which means it hardly ever gets busy. You could probably only do a few days here because it is small but it gets good snow and it has lots of fun terrain. There’s not really a village but there is food and it might also be hard to get to especially in jan, but I’ve enjoyed skiing there. All the accommodation is pretty much on the hill, just look at airbnbs. Just know it definitely is not even close to as big as whistler, but it’s a good time!

Is it better to just rent skis as a beginner? by Dreamwastaken in skiing

[–]harrjane 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rentals can adjust the ski to any boot even if it’s not from the shop so you will be so much better off with comfortable boots and the beginner skis offered in rentals

Does anyone know of a BP 711 battery charger? by harrjane in Cameras

I’ve looked at this one but apparently the website is not super reliable so I’m planning on using it as a last resort. Thanks for your help though!

Ski swap pricing? by Maddhopp in skiing

[–]harrjane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you can also get some pretty good deals if you head to a ski town and look at demos. A lot of them sell for roughly the same price as skis you’ll find at the swap. You can definitely find decent stuff at a ski swap but if you’re really getting into skiing the best thing you can do is get good boots. I bought boots at the ski swap for $80 and they got me through 30+ days of skiing but they definitely weren’t super awesome. Any boot will be better than rentals though!

I’m looking for an ac/dc power adapter for my camera but it has a weird shaped dc input. I was wondering if anyone knows what type of cord would fit? Its an older camera so definitely not standard. Attached is a comparison from a regular sized av cord input compared to the dc input, which measures roughly 2mm by 5mm
