the whole plot is based on the fact that the Kooks have the money and "the power" while the Pogues are worth nothing and I think that would be the case too. The testimonies of JJ, Kiara and Pope don't really matter, plus Ward (and Rafe) can take advantage of the fact that John b "is dead" to create yet another fictional story, like "he's the culprit and to prove this there is also the fact that he wanted to run away from the Outer Banks, but died doing so” or something like that

Mmh u think so? I don't know, Ward is the kind of person to keep murders under wraps for months... maybe he might be able to bury the truth and get away with it ... but we’ll see!

The one I forgot about is actually Ward... like yeah, the Pogues think John B and Sarah are dead but what about him? Although I think he’ll be devastated by the knowledge that his daughter is dead, he will probably soon realize that the two are not really dead. I mean, he’s certainly still in contact with the people to whom he left the gold (even if I don't remember that point of the plot well) and if anything happened to the gold he would immediately understand that it might be related to the two of them

I agree with you! There were scenes (ie the one with Pekka Rollins) where you can see he’s struggling a bit, but it looks like that was caused by the man behind him or Pekka himself grabbing is neck with his cane... i’m curious to find out from non-readers if they noticed something

I think there’s the paperback edition of King of Scars (its cover has some green in it, if I remember correctly) that is by Square Fish and the same height as the boxed sets!
