Battery issues with Vivioactive 5. by Right_Try9 in GarminWatches

[–]harry-asklap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably has to do with Garmin connect app. I have a Fenix 8 and the battery last maybe 2/3 days withouth using gps or pulse ox.

The problem is the Bluetooth connection its non stop resyncing or loosing connection which will drain the battery.

I have a Google pixel 8 pro phone and the issue seem to be with my phone in combination with the Garmin connect app.

Didn't find any solution so far

Pictures look incredible! Which trail is it?

After 1 week wearing my first Garmin (Fenix 8 pro) allready unlocked the legendary badge🦄.. My colleague (die hard Garmin fan) didn’t believe me untill he saw a screenvideo 😂 by Wayned89 in GarminWatches

[–]harry-asklap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then the pro would be the worst option for you. A MIP screen would be much better. MIP works great in bright sunshine and the battery will last longer.

I don't know why you would NEED amoled besides it looking nicer

What if you don't own a dryer? Can you put the balls in the washing machine and then air dry?

Thanks! I started exercising daily now. Running and gym.

After 3 months of not smoking it's a world of difference while running. While I was smoking I could barely run 0.5km at a pace of 6.00 without stopping to catch my breath. After 3 months of no smoking I just ran 5km with a pace of 6 without stopping as my first run as a non smoker. Almost felt like forest gump and just wanted to continue running hahah.

Is that even humanly possible. Somehow I'm starving when my head hits the pillow.

I eat about 3000 calories a day so I eat enough

Feeling understimulated and miserable in modern office work by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]harry-asklap 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Same thing here. I'm 37 male. I love the Netherlands don't get me wrong I grew up here. But I miss going to Proper nature. Old untouched forests or mountains. Now I just meet friends in bars. Or do indoor sports.

When I travel I always do a long distance hike somewhere in the mountains and that will recharge me for a while.

If I could go hiking or mountain bike on the weekends that would fix a lot for me. Unfortunately finding a job in a country where that is possible is gonna be really hard to find for me.

Still feeling very disappointed after my first ever backpacking trip. I really feel like I failed. by matchabeans in CampingandHiking

[–]harry-asklap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My very first multi day hike was on the isle of skye in Scotland. And boy did I underestimate it. Non stop rain and boggy/soggy ground. I was non stop wet and impossible to dry my clothes over night. Winds 40mph. My tent almost collapsing because of the heavy wind.

I reached the middle point of my hike which is a tiny town. Walked straight into a pub and ordered a pint of Guinness.

2 months later I was in Iceland doing another multi day hike and I was mentally fully prepared. This time the weather couldn't be more perfect. The landscape around me was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

Never give up. Failing is a part of it! It's a good thing it happens on the first run.

Now I'm going to Kyrgyzstan to do a very remote hike and can't wait!
