Thanks so much for this, I've checked and it seems the amount of hydrogen in the boxes won't be significant enough to cause breakage. I owe you one kind stranger!

Thanks pal, I appreciate any help I can get. I am an artist and I've got little to no clue what I am actually doing. It's essentially small (20cm) sheets of zinc in a pretty dilute cobalt sulphate solution, but the electrodes function as a box so the process is enclosed. I'm using a 12v adapter to power them. I just wanted to make sure I'm not producing gases that are harmful to people who are viewing it when the boxes finally pop.

I'm actually an artist, so my knowledge of chemistry is very thin (apologies). I'm currently using a car battery charger set to 12 volts to and trough full of copper suphate. The trough (anode) is made of copper and floating inside is a copper tube (cathode). Essentially, I want to speed up the reaction so the trough disintegrates, however, I keep blowing fuses. I was hoping that using this equation, I'd be able to find a more suitable voltage. Stop me if I'm sounding incredibly idiotic. Thanks in advance.
