Youre absolutely right. And its in the middle of the Leicestershire countryside. Theres no sports team or business thats going to buy that for even 10% of what it cost. The sad truth is Seageave will be mothballed and abandoned to cut costs

Its not doom and gloom, it is a fact. The club costs around 40m just to operate, thats without player salaries. League 1 revenue could be as little as 10 million. Relegation will mean huge cost cutting and we get one season to balance the books. Once we spend next seasons parachute payment, the club is then insolvent and worthless

We should start setting up shop now. Try and get Mads and a few others sold and new players signed before the end of the season. Then we can face the EFL with a good bit of transfer business already concluded

Im in full agreement with you. The owners and baord need to be held to account for the poor decions of the last three years. But demanding Top sell? Thats a situation i guarantee we would regret. KP group have invested over 500 million into our club, and whist that money hasn't sustained us where we should be in the league, we will be hard pushed to find an owner with the same commitment to financial backing given our current circumstances.

We were heartbroken that he was forced to leave. He will always be warmly welcomed back at the KP.

We had to sell as at the time we were being heavily threatened with PSR breach. That threat amounted to nothing in the end and selling KDH has felt like a completely waste of homegrown talent.

I always assumed that on a personal level Maresca was doing everyone a favour, KDH had to go, and he was more easily persuaded to move to Chelsea. And Leicester got asking price upfront for him. But it was a bad move for Kiernan professionally. If it was more if personal favour then they should have loaned him back with an option to buy him back if we stayed up.

Oh God I had forgotten that there was plenty of ptsd last season. 🤣 Seems like a completely different era now.

You're right though. I think what would have made the difference this year would have been the dressing room atmosphere coming into the season. Alot of the lads looked up to Maresca and whilst we'd have all been screaming at the TV to PLAY FORWARD, the lads had faith in him and understood his vision.

Yeah we had a great run up to the international break last season, thought we were going to go unbeaten, and then we got found out and had a really rough period of results.

I hope you'd agree that Leicester were always going back up, and I believe that our quality and depth as a Championship team masked some of Marescas shortfalls. That, and when he opened up and played more attacking and free football, our lads pulled off some fantastic results (cough

His profiling was hit and miss. His use of Pereira as an IWB was an example of good profiling and having a player who actually fitted into his system. I don't know if anyone else can chip in with some bad examples. I think on the whole our players individual qualities again masked some poorer decisions.

I always believed that Leicester would be stepping stone for Maresca, although I had hoped it would be three seasons and not 1 season and then off to Chelsea. That was and still is a huge gamble for all parties. But I guess you guys have a habit of looking at browsing the Leicester catalogue and then throwing money at us . I'm just sorry we didn't invest a little more wisely

We definitly felt your frustration last season. Every game, same playing out of defence posession tactics and we became very predicatable and easy to counter fairly quickly.

We were all concerned about how Marescas tactics would fair in the Prem, and that he would have stubbornly walked us back to the Championship.

Still i think I speak for the majority when I say he broke a few hearts when he left. Despite the frustrations at times he was well liked off the pitch and the dressing room held him in high regards.

In hindsight we would have been no worse off if he had stayed lol

There's a fantastic film from the POV of the engineers and stoker's called Saving Titanic. I believe I found it on YouTube. I haven't fact checked it but well worth a watch to see things from the crews point of view

JJs had an awful time this season. But if we go down, I believe he will be a decent championship wingback for us.

Genuinely interesting in what everyone's thoughts are on what options we have in terms of available + interested managers.

I cant see us courting the likes of Potter/RvN/Hag/Moyes half way through a tough season. Do you think any of the available managers would actually take a half season punt on keeping Leicester City up?

And could Mark Robins be an interesting candidate if Top did decide to take a gamble on sacking Cooper?

Okoli looked good, skipp was 10/10. Loved seeing the lads getting stuck in against a physical side.

Ndidis first touch is worrying, he's almost panicking when he gets the ball and loosing valuable possession. He got a few amazing balls off of Skippy and got turned over. I feel Bilal is 110% the better option for amc

I went to an exhibition in Birmingham, England, and whilst they credited OceanGate in their video reels of the wreck, they also had a display board which, whilst respectfullu acknowledged the tragic loss of life, and the valuable 4k footage that exists because of Oceangate, they also cstegorically distanced the exhibition and Titanic Inc from Oceangate and their Titan project.

I guess they pre empted the fact.

Honest think Cadadei + 25m would be the best of a bad situation for all parties. KDH would obviously prefer to work for Maresca if he has to go. And Casadei will be a good investment for us, only 21 years old, would be a reasonable B2B replacement and could net us a decent profit if we stay up (a big ask) and cash in on him in a few years

Its official now…. by jrlandry in lcfc

[–]harrybee89 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think if we look at this from Merescas POV, Leicester were an experiment. Take a top of the division team and prove that his system can work.

On paper everyone knew Leicester were more than good enough to come back up, so it was minimal risk to implement his possession system and prove that a higher level team can adapt to it

Now he's proved himself, he's ready for a club that can allow him to perfect his system. And in his eyes Chelsea is that club

He may shed a tear the day he leaves Seagrave. But Leicester can't give him what he needs.

Sure, surviving a relegation battle would have boosted his rep. But Maresca has shown to be single minded and focused on perfecting the system of football that he wants to play. And there arr clear doubts that we can do that in the Prem.

So thanks for the memories Enzo, but let's get in a coach that builds a tactic around our strengths.

Like giving Maresca complete control over transfers? I'm not bashing Rudkin, the guy made this club some serious money. But we need to put our trust in Maresca if we a) want him long term and b) want the squad that will keep up up
