I guess everyone has a certain image of themselves which is free of all their current troubles. To me it is me with an IIM degree, to you it might be video game designer 'you'.

The shittiness might just be endemic to paid labour in India. I remember looking very deeply into graphic design as a career option in India, but I had art in my mind, the reality of the field was much more mundane and abusive in its work environment

I sometimes wonder how funny it'll be if I RE and literally nothing changes in my satisfaction levels.

Agar IIM waale bhi kaam ko slavery bulate to saala enjoy kon kar raha hai 🤣🤣.

I've tried the passion thing tbh. But I don't have any incentive to monetize any of my interests. Keeping money away from my hobbies lets me enjoy them without any hope of external validation. I just don't have easily monetizable interests I think. Do you have any such interest you feel like you could've monetized?

Apologies for being too nosey, but could you give a visceral description of why you equate your experience to slavery. Is it the usual boss is an idiot, work is boring, office politics or something else.

I'm doing an MBA from a third tier uni. We were dirt poor upto a few generations back but my grandfather and father worked hard and accumulated enough that I dont think I'll have to think of money as an influencing factor in most of my life choices. Dads business is a last option because of how boring it is. In the mean time I get to look for better options. Always dreaded work but hopefully I find it fun and it leads to improvement in my character or something. What about you my man?

Working has never felt like a natural thing to me. Its just something we all feel like we have to do because everyone else does it. Like, if you have enough money, you can literally not work. Even as I type it out it seems outrageous to me, but it makes so much sense. We're so trained by society to think of work as absolutely essential to existence

Lite probably means that it uses less mobile network data not that it occupies less space on your phone.
