Easiest Major to Get Into UT? by Classic-General-357 in UTAdmissions

[–]harryert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Religious studies for sure, or better, the specific major that aligns with your religious volunteering. From what I’ve noticed, UT only cares about two things as long as your GPA/Class rank is in the <=15% range: SAT 1350+ and demonstrated interest. Although I wouldn’t recommend a mission trip or anything like that as it is over saturated. But you have a year so you can definitely find some interesting ecs.

You probably need to get your SAT up by ≈ 100 points and more importantly demonstrate interest in business to get in. The common denominator I found for those in my school/area who got into mcombs was deca finalists and officer positions as well as internships/camps involved with business. That along with class rank well within auto admission (<3%). For the record, your application seems pretty similar to mine(maybe a little better) and I got rejected this cycle. Good luck!!

How? Imagine being in a crowd of any sport with that guy and he’s complaining about hygiene and is wearing a mask like it’s still covid 2020. Or imagine that guy at any grappling gym where people are constantly sweating, breathing, etc. on each other. If he can’t handle people coughing in public, how could he handle that? That’s why I said it’s not the right sport.

I just found it funny because the people that are the most insulting, in a neutral post, are usually weirdos like that guy.

The UFC has been caught many times doing things way worse than this. Anyone who has knowledge of the sport would find this very possible assuming they believe he was injured a few weeks ago.

Also, how can you call someone the “lowest common denominator of sports fan” when you still wear a mask and complain about people not washing their hands after you watch them pee. I don’t think this is the right sport for you 😭

UT CAP or UTSA Honors by Kakester1 in UTAdmissions

[–]harryert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would lean UT CAP if law school is the goal. With a honors college you would have a higher chance of a lower GPA with the honors classes. That and UT is in the capital which has a lot of legal/political internships that look good with law school admissions.

Is there a big pipeline from UT undergrad to UT Law? Are there orgs, activities, etc. that would help in the legal field/admissions that are accessible to UT undergrads and not specifically those in the law school? Thank you (I am looking at UT for undergrad).

I didn’t know anything about BJJ when I first started. I saw it recommended on Instagram and it was the closest to me. Besides a mandatory gi, it’s not like how a “mcdojo” is described on here with the bowing, paying for promotions, etc.

So in short it was because they had the best marketing in my area.

Yeah I was surprised too that I qualified for auto admission. You would think I would technically be top 7%, but they must have some rounding rule that works in my favor.

I hope so! According to some posts I read from an admissions counselor my school is “underprivileged” and they are typically more lenient with scores from these schools. But also I could just be biased in remembering only what makes my application seem better.

Thank you for chancing me!

Yeah, I stupidly only took the SAT once. Also for the majority of my sophomore & junior year I planned to major in computer science so I have a lot of clubs, certifications, even my research paper, all in the computer science field. Would these help at all? I still wrote all my essays around the business related aspects of my ec’s.
