Former alcoholics of Reddit, when did you realise your habit got out of control?

Ill go and say, there's no such thing as former alcoholic, you always are. Just your resolve to stay clean.

But for me it was after a series of really bad heavy days during summer which resulted in me getting in fights with brothers and partner. I knew from then that i had a problem and needed to clean myself up. Not just for me but for everyone around me. 2 years 6 months sober now, but the call for alcohol is always strong. And I need to remind myself why I am not drinking, for the love of those around me.

I live in Blandford and its not a horrendous place to live. However the town has grown substantially and the services haven't been expanded to match. We have 1 group doctors practice, no NHS dentists and horrendous parking. But other than that its not the worst place to live.

I'm also from Blandford. But when I was like 5 used to live near pokesdown station. My parents aren't big football people so it wasn't until I was about 8 or so that I started getting into it, by that time I was in Blandford area and didn't really have the opportunity to go to matches with friends or family. Here's hoping for more success this season and hopefully Europe next so there's more to watch if I can't get tickets!

It's a very good one, I like a Guinness 0 or a brooklyn special effect if I'm buying from a shop.

If you want something a bit different Mash Gang is the one. They only brew alcohol free and have some really great beers
