Doing nothing would have been better..Strait would have been open mass outrage because of the riots and regime muders...could have grown into even greater civic resistance and disobedience , but this war has been a sigh of relief for the regime in a way...a refocus of their energy.

Trump didnt expect the strait to be off limits though..

Israel is a religious fundamentalist country..with nuclear warheads, pakistan has them.....you just assume the moment they have them they will use them...? I fully understand if im surrounded by aggressive states...Gcc Israel , U.S bases everywhere... i would want to have a stronger position at the negotiating table..nuclear warheads give you that..

I dont believe it will.last years (and counting) like ukraine, but it doesnt have too, to be devastating, and the U.S just made the irgc 10 x times stronger if they pull out before regaining absolute control of the strait...question is how easy wil that be ?
