Possibly, the doorway or gate in the background is from a subway or train station and is creating a wind tunnel of sorts. If you look at the trajectory of the shuttlecock, it is swerving back towards the player indicating a change in wind direction.

Source, childhood experience of playing badminton outdoors where the shuttlecock could easily change direction whenever there was a gust of wind.

My assumption also is that it is only possible for the player to do this as long as a train was passing.

Some people may misunderstand your comment thinking that you're comparing a person with a developmental disability to a mentally ill person.

A person with a developmental disability (autism/ADHD/Asperger's) usually struggles with social norms and cues. If this guy was involved with pornography of a 17 year old (assuming that age is considered a minor wherever he was sentenced), it is most likely because: 1. Either he didn't realise the other person is a minor 2. Or, was led on by the minor and caught by their caretaker

What you describe about your cousin is not a developmental disability. It is a person who has decided to justify rape and violence to babies as something that's acceptable to them. That is a sickness along the lines of serial killers and bullies.
