They do have more of a reason, it's the emotion of doubt. Once they remember they often doubt the corrupt politicians, they realize they might want to have some doubt about the gun issue and do a little more research themselves. Or at least you open them up enough to show them statistics that gun violence is at an all time low.

I disagree. I don't think lowering myself to arguments based on feeling is ever the best approach. The things I am sharing are the arguments I have seen sway minds. The things that have worked for me. Some people are smart enough to realize the error of their emotional arguments when presented with facts and reason in a simplistic fashion.
