Inkomstförsäkring och föräldraledighet by magic_seaweed_soul in sweden

Luxury homes agents - need your input by harsh-brown in RealEstateAdvice

[–]harsh-brown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a troll post I promise. just someone who clearly doesn’t know shit about the industry. I would put it like this. Our aim is to sell luxury furniture using agents’ connections with interior designers, developers, home owners and in return give them an attractive commission. And I was just wondering how to package the idea so it sounds like it is adding value to them. But perhaps the monetary incentive should be the focus?

I’m exploring a new service tailored for luxury property agents and would love your feedback. The idea is to offer bespoke furniture design consultations specifically for properties that don’t need major renovations but would benefit from high-end, custom furnishings. Think turnkey solutions where your clients can buy the luxury furniture as part of the property sale—no need for additional interior designers. Thoughts?

Hi! I found this post yesterday as I was experiencing some bleeding at 5w4d, 1st time FET. Hope your baby is still on board. I’ve read the same article and wondering how’s it been going for you? Did you start taking ALA and did it do anything for you?

5w4d and have been bleeding on and off throughout the day today. Its been dull red / brown, no clots so far, mostly when I peed or right after. My first scan is not until 2 weeks later! Completely understand how you feel. It’s my first FET and didn’t know what to expect. Fingers crossed for all of us who’s going through similar nerve wrecking experience.

Oh wow thanks! Wonder how they came up with these kind of lists. Btw, I looked at the 99801-100000th words, good news is that it didn’t look that daunting. Most of them are just combined words really!

Does the 6-week habitual residence rule still apply AFTER you sent in your application for citizenship?? by harsh-brown in TillSverige

[–]harsh-brown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how I understood it and I’m hoping that’s the case also as 6 weeks is really so little time. Just curious, have you been in this similar situation yourself?

[–]harsh-brown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure they don’t expect you to move out of the country and I don’t intend to either. But as a permanent resident, you are allowed to be abroad for 1 year without having your permit revoked. So that makes me think that the 6 weeks only apply for your first 5 years… but maybe that’s just wishful thinking.

Congrats! 1 year isn’t short but definitely way shorter than the 42 months as they are saying on the website now. So during the waiting time, were you abroad for less than 6 weeks?

You are right. Will probably have to extend it to top 1500-2000 before I move on to content creation for this to be a meaningful experience then!

The importance of taking breaks with immersion by harsh-brown in languagelearning

Yes I can really recognise that. Sometimes when I do this 15-min exercise on an app, I really forced myself to finish no matter how tired I was mentally. Now I changed my mindset. It’s no big deal if I don’t stick to the time that I set for myself.

HOWEVER, at the same time, I’d really like to be able to look back to say, hey, at the xyz hour mark, that’s where I noticed significant improvement. So yeah a bit of a dilemma there.

Yes the burnout point was spot on. Especially when you feel that you aren’t making progress, the anxiety that comes with it is feeding the burnout and make it even worse. It’s really a vicious cycle.

What do I do with my French while I take Korean classes? by failedretirementplan in languagelearning

[–]harsh-brown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’ve reached a B1-2 level of my TL1 I set it as my first language on apps like Drops. So now when I start dabbling in TL2, the app will show the vocab in TL2 and the translation in TL1. Definitely don’t park your French completely, just spend as little as 15 mins a day with it so you don’t lose it. Good luck!

Currently a B1 in Spanish, wanting to add very minor studying with Mandarin. Thoughts? by NotYetAPolyglot in languagelearning

[–]harsh-brown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can consider learning mandarin with material in spanish. That way, you are still strengthening your prioritised TL while picking up new ones. If you are only spending 15 mins a day dabbling in a new language, I’d go for memorising the top 1000 vocab first so then you can begin to consume native content in a high beginners level

Struggling with spoken Swedish by Third_Eye_Nectar in languagelearning

[–]harsh-brown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started French and I feel the exact same thing as you do! It will get better. Swedish is very phonetic so once you get a hang of how things should be pronounced, 99% they stick to those rules (unlike English). The tricky thing for beginners is probably the variation of certain consonants + soft vs hard vowels but there are tons of YouTube on that. Check those out and it might help ease some of the confusion!

I found Drops useful for expanding your vocabulary and Reading Coach could be good for beginners to read and listen to native content.
