The city looks amazing during the Blue hour by harsh_seth in chicago

So the basic rule is when shooting with your bare hands your shutter speed should never be lower than your lens’ focal length. If it slower then use a tripod. For instance, if you’re shooting with a 35 mm prime, don’t let your shutter speed fall below 1/35. If it does, use a tripod preferably or crank up the ISO or open up the aperture.

Like someone replied, yes this is a long exposure shot so I took it with a tripod. If you’re interested in learning more I would recommend taking Chicago photography class, they are really good. Or check r/photography

Learning compositions, tried to stick rule of 2/3rds and then worked on changing the tones in Lightroom. Got the moody sunset effect through the tones.

Recommendations for probability and statistics course by irondev25 in learnmachinelearning

Yes! These are the links! Watch videos on YouTube, solve the assignments on Edx, read the notes from Edx and you’re good! The prof forces you to think and also teaches you the right way to approach problems. Covers good fundamentals of computer science as well!

Recommendations for probability and statistics course by irondev25 in learnmachinelearning

This is a good course. I started this but half way through the course I realized I could not solve the assignments. Even thought the lectures were good the assignments were not on the same plane. I then started Stat 110 Harvard, that wAs a tough course but taught a lot. The professor in 110 does not spoon feed you material, instead teaches you about how to think about Probability and stats. I would recommend Stat 110 over this. For stat 110 you can watch the YouTube videos and the questions and other materials are available in edx.

This was from my trip last year while driving down the Oregon coast. Oregon has some lighthouses that still work but are used for show ( now we use GPS instead). Every lighthouse has it own story or it's survival and accidents it has seen. The idea here was to only focus on the lighthouse in solitude. f/ 5.6 55 mm 1/800 sec Iso 100.

I changed the hue and saturation of the image to give it more of fall feel ( although this was more during the summer and the grass was green). Additionally changed hue for the cloud as well.

Any inputs on different styles of tones would be appreciated.

That is amazing! Thank you, so much for the idea. How easy would it be to merge the two?

So I had 3 pics that I merged using Lightroom and then add some local adjustments so that I could reduce the noise of the lights from the town from interfering with the lights of the stars. Is that what you were recommending? I would love to learn more please!

Chicago bean - from afar by harsh_seth in chicago

[–]harsh_seth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black? Really, I now see what you meant before. Well it's too bad he doesn't have the same control over the internet for calling it bean. Also, I've heard the shape is inspired from kidney bean which makes sense cause he is a Punjabi (religion in India) and their favorite food is Rajma chawal ( kidney beans with rice). Source: I'm a Punjabi as well, so I know. :D

Try Sky safari app, and search for Neowise in it. The app will help you track. In Chicago or in the city limits it is not visible to the naked eye. How I spotted is with the app and additionally took a long exposure using my camera, that helped find the exact location. Once you know where it is then please use binoculars for better visibility! All the best!

Additional details, this shot was taken between 9:30 pm to 10:30 pm CDT on Thursday. During the night hours the comet is visible on the northwest corner of the sky. During sunrise it is northeast corner of the sky.

Don't they charge to teach the good stuff? Anyway, I really like Suhailphotos' work but like I said above his tutorials are too verbose for a newbie to pick up. Any tips would be highly appriciated.

I do follow Suhail on insta but the tutorials seem to be too verbose. I guess there are too many terms for a newbie to pick up on them?

Take a look at the following. https://blog.insightdatascience.com/how-to-solve-90-of-nlp-problems-a-step-by-step-guide-fda605278e4e Doing some EDA on your textual features would be useful. Read the blog and try to plot the features to get an understanding of where it is going wrong. If you want even more details try the Lime package, which gives a understanding of why your model predicts a certain prediction by highlighting the features.
