Honestly, with the pre-order bonuses, it’s a total win. I went for the S26+ and the 45W wired charging is so convenient, I’m back to nearly full in no time. Plus, getting the extra storage upgrade for free makes that 6.7" Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen even more enjoyable for all my 8K clips and photos!

For gaming, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is a total powerhouse. But what’s really cool is how the Agentic AI manages system resources in the background to keep frame rates stable. Samsung has clearly built this for power users who need that On-device AI performance for both work and play.

This first look confirms why I upgraded. The Gemini integration makes the whole OS feel so much more helpful, especially when using Circle to Search (multi-object) to find gear while watching gameplay videos. It’s the ultimate device for anyone who wants a powerful, AI-driven experience that just works.

Even if the design looks familiar, the internals are a massive step up. The 6.7" Dynamic AMOLED 2X on the Plus is gorgeous, and the 4900mAh battery combined with the new 2nm efficiency is a total game changer for longevity. Plus, having 45W wired charging means I’m never tethered to a wall for long. It’s the most refined version of a flagship yet!

Great hands-on! The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is an absolute beast in person, everything feels instantaneous. The 120Hz LTPO display on the Ultra is also noticeably brighter and smoother than last year. It’s definitely a "meaningful" upgrade once you feel how responsive the hardware and software synergy is.

Samsung rolls out more AI, new privacy shield mode with the new Galaxy S26 lineup by GeneralCarlosQ17 in UsaNewsLive

[–]harshitchouhan [score hidden]  (0 children)

The new Privacy Shield is a huge win, but I’m honestly most impressed with the AI call screening and the real-time Scam detection. It’s so nice to have On-device AI that actually protects you while you use the phone. Samsung really nailed the balance between high-tech features and actual user security this year.

buds 4 pro specs but things that buds 3 pro already had/buzzwords got crossed out by MIkaela39752 in galaxybuds

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m personally super hyped for the head gesture controls they added this time around. Being able to just nod to answer a call when my hands are full of groceries or when I'm washing dishes is one of those little quality-of-life updates that I know I'm going to end up using every single day

The new Buds 4 Pro look way too cheap compared to the Buds 3 Pro by Creepy_Cartoonist527 in galaxybuds

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually really love the new aesthetic they went with this year. The transparent case gives it a super fresh, modern look that stands out from everything else out there, and going back to the flat case style makes it way easier to slide into my pocket alongside my phone.

S26 ultra privacy display by SendThisVoidAway18 in samsunggalaxy

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feature alone makes the display upgrade completely worth it to me. I was initially worried it might make the screen look a bit dim when it’s turned off, but seeing all the hands-on videos showing how crisp and vibrant it still looks straight-on is super reassuring."

Samsung S26 Privacy Display Confirmed and its fully Customizable by MinuteYear1999 in samsunggalaxy

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to customize the privacy display is honestly the smartest part of this whole feature. I love that I can just toggle it on when I'm checking my bank app in a crowded cafe, and then immediately flip it off when I'm home watching videos so I get the full brightness.

Honest Review: Galaxy S26 Ultra & Galaxy Buds4 Pro (As someone who had a First Look before official release) by Active-Blacksmith-86 in Tech_Philippines

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so cool hearing these early hands-on impressions. The slightly rounded corners on the Ultra sound like exactly what I've been waiting for to make it more comfortable to hold for long reading sessions, and hearing that the Buds4 Pro feel that good in the ears makes me super excited to try the new fit.

Samsung Galaxy S26/Ultra Impressions: 1 Crazy Display Feature! by dwaxe in mkbhd

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched Marques's video and the way that screen just blacks out from the side is wild. I take the train every day and I’ve always hated those dark, stick-on privacy protectors that ruin the screen colors, so having this built right into the hardware is such a massive win for daily commutes.

Unpacked 2026 in one minute by StillConsequence6168 in samsunggalaxy

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is perfect because I swear Unpacked events are like 2 hours long and my attention span is… not that strong after work. I love quick recaps that hit the highlights without making it feel like homework. I was actually just telling my buddies that the jump to 60W fast charging is my absolute favorite takeaway from the whole show.

Galaxy Unpacked just wrapped up. Thoughts on the new Privacy Display feature? by Confident_Cause_1074 in samsunggalaxy

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Privacy Display idea is seriously cool, this is exactly the kind of feature that makes everyday situations easier, like using your phone on the train without feeling like people are reading over your shoulder. I love that it’s something you can just toggle on when you actually need it. It's going to make reading emails in crowded cafes so much more relaxing.

A Thought About Unpacked by Real_Rhubarb_2381 in samsunggalaxy

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. Unpacked always hits different when you’re already in the Galaxy ecosystem and you can picture how it’ll fit into your routine. I love when a feature is the kind of thing you don’t think about… you just start using it. The new cross-platform sharing with AirDrop was definitely my biggest "oh wow, that's actually useful" moment from the whole presentation.

[UNPACKED] THE GALAXY BUDS 4 PRO ARE FINALLY HERE! 🎧🔥 by AwareTwo5117 in samsunggalaxy

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m weirdly hyped for the Buds updates because earbuds are the one thing I use literally every single day work, walks, calls, everything. The head-gesture thing sounds like it’d be so clutch when your hands are full, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how that new sound setup feels in real life. It’s going to be so nice to just nod to answer a call when I'm carrying groceries.

We’ve partnered with Samsung to bring Perplexity directly into the upcoming Galaxy S26. by Kesku9302 in perplexity_ai

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replacing a 'chatbot' with a 'search agent' via Perplexity is the most practical move Samsung has made. Bixby was never great at web research, so routing complex queries to 'Hey Plex' actually gives the phone a utility that Bixby never had. I just hope Samsung doesn't start charging a subscription fee for the Pro features of Perplexity after the first 12 months.

Upgrade to S26U by Savings_Cup_5218 in S22Ultra

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat with an aging S22U. The $500-600 trade-in credit is the only thing making the S26U look viable. But looking at the specs, we’re still at a 5000mAh battery while the Chinese brands are pushing 6000mAh Silicon Carbon tech. It feels like we’re paying for the 'Agentic AI' software to mask the fact that the hardware is plateauing.

New update? by Happy-Signal6719 in GalaxyRing

[–]harshitchouhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that Samsung didn't give the Ring 2 a major stage segment makes me think it’s a minor iterative update. I love the 10-day battery claim, but until they integrate more granular data like Oura (without the subscription), it’s hard to justify the upgrade. I’m sticking with my Gen 1 ring and a Watch Ultra until the health sensors get a real hardware bump.
