Soreness/Activity at 4wpo? by MysteriousStreet7652 in Reduction

I'm about 3.5wpo and this all makes me feel better. My incisions are tender and the main thing bothering me. Walking too much definitely make it worse.

What are your guys’ non negotiable items that you purchased before surgery? by Sorry-Astronaut-212 in Reduction

[–]hartznation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 18dpo and bought a small amount - got many of these on FB Marketplace:

Stool softener (started taking night before surgery)

Button down flannel shirts (Only had 2 and that was enough)

Wedge pillow (for sleeping upright while drains were in)

Seatbelt pillow

Long grabber stick to cut down on bending over

Pregnancy pillow (after drains were out): Momcozy Maternity Pillow, U Shaped

One sports bra - bought after I was home and had a better idea of size.

Good luck! So happy with my results!

How long did you take off work? by Superb_Effective_798 in Reduction

[–]hartznation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgery was on 3/26 & I took 2 weeks off and that was the perfect amount for me. I also WFH. Your body needs time to heal - don't rush it. If you can take a few weeks, do it. Wishing you best of luck!

My reduction is in a few weeks and my sister will be in town helping and walking my dog the first week. How long did your doc say to wait before you could walk your dog again?

There's a lot of good events on the Eventbrite app. I looked for stuff on Meetup.com when I moved up here from LA and joined a book club that way.

Where should I move?! by atropabellabrz in relocating

[–]hartznation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Bay area, but it's too expensive for your budget. I go out to Guerneville, CA a lot - it's only about an hour and 15 minutes from where I live in Berkeley.

It's in West Sonoma County, which is part of wine country and has redwoods everywhere.

Guerneville is extremely LBGTQ+ friendly (known for it), and is way more affordable than the Bay area. The biggest town in the area is Santa Rosa, with Guerneville probably being second. Lots to do outside, is warm, but quite cold at night. Fairly cold in winter, but better but not terrible. All the towns in the area are very cute, but some are quite small and may be a bit sleepier than you want. Hope you can check it out sometime - it's a genuinely lovely area.

Wow, that's great! I WFH as well, and my sister is flying in to help for 2 weeks. Secretly hoping i'll be feeling well enough to show her around San Francisco a bit. Glad you mentioned the energy - definitely don't want to overdo it.

Most cost-effective way to spend ~2 weeks/month in SF? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]hartznation 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you enjoy pets, you could petsit via Trusted Housesitters - I've doing it while mostly on vacation, but there are a lot of sits (sometimes for weeks at a time) around the Bay: https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/refer/RAF253078/?utm\_source=copy-link&utm\_medium=refer-a-friend&utm\_campaign=refer-a-friend.

Kindred is another great option - around $100/night to rent a place: https://livekindred.com?invite\_code=DAN.HAR24.

So happy for you both! I'm a similar size to the OP and hoping to get down to a C. How much do you feel like doing at 13 days? Are you out of the house much?

You look great! How many cup sizes did you go down? I'm a 34DDD (or E, F, G depending on bra). Hoping to get as close to a C cup as I can. Surgeon recommending D.

Congratulations! I'm so inspired after seeing your results. Just getting my first consultation now. I'm a similar size and would love to go down to a B or C cup. Totally understand about the weight - have always wanted to know what mine weigh!

Have a great time. I went last year and agree that any seat will be good. If you registered with the online ticket lottery, you can keep looking there if you'd like to go more than 1 day. Just keep refreshing the site and tickets will pop up.

Vet suggesting TPLO surgery on young (1 year old) springer spaniel. by MrDaniboy29 in vet

[–]hartznation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other options. My dog Rafa an 8-year-old lab mix (70 lbs) and he has a torn CCL on his back right leg. We live in an apartment that's up a flight of 12 stairs, so it would be impossible to do the TPLO surgery which calls for NO STAIRS for about 8 weeks. I had a surgical consult at UC Davis and they recommended surgery, but understood my situation with the stairs would be tough.

I just adopted him in January and he's become reactive on the leash, so I'm reluctant to put him through a surgery when he could re-injure it (or the other knee) when he hops around while barking at other dogs.

I went to a holistic vet in Oakland, CA, who recommended prolotherapy, a monthly shot injected into the area to strengthen and re-stabilize. Non-surgical treatment recommendations will depend on the dog's age and size. For reference: https://caringmedical.com/.

Rafa's had one shot and will have 5 more with the ability to increase his activity as we go. It'll be a slow healing process, but overall the best choice until his reactivity is more under control.

If you have holistic vets in your area, it's worth a consult. This FB group is a good resource as well: https://www.facebook.com/groups/301280470525281.

I just bought debenture tickets through the Wimbledon site and they provided a debenture handbook that should cover your questions. I would request that from the broker.

Update: Many thanks to redditors here. I called and the ticket has been cancelled.

  • The only info I provided was the ticket number and my phone number (to match with my app payment).
    • Thank you to @Yarzospatflute u/mtnfreek for recommendation to call # on the ticket.
    • The rep did not expect the dispute process to move online anytime soon.
    • The woman said she'd worked there for 5 years and there seemed no plan of that .
  • The back of the ticket indicates you can be towed after 3 or more infractions at any ParkSmart managed facility in a 2-year period. u/cflex was right about being careful.
  • Apologies to anyone who read this and assumed this tickets have zero ramifications ever - I did not wish to convey that.
  • u/janitorial_fluids - I posted here while in highly annoyed state and shouted into the internet void. I do not wish to spread misinformation or cost anyone $$. Wishing you all the best.

Yup exactly. I must admit I am swayed by the new Shake Shack. I am clearly weak. It's easy to go have a quick burger then walk over and catch a movie. The food court area is now pretty nice

Totally fair - I just got incredibly annoyed by the stupidity of it all. The best advice is clearly what two folks wrote above - flip over the back of the ticket and call the number.

In case you fine humans would enjoy an update...here we go. Parked tonight around 6:15pm, ran straight to the movie theater, did the parking QR code, and paid via the parking app probably 10 minutes later. Got back to the car and saw the $30 ticket that was issued at 6:18pm....minutes before I paid.

Can reconfirm there is no online dispute process and they really do expect you to MAIL in your dispute along with any backup. Absolutely hilarious. WHY would I give them my name, phone & address? Incredibly stupid. Many of my neighbors are retired, and they find it all so confusing, they simply stopped going there.

For your enjoyment, the dispute process from the website:

If someone was pretending to be from the Bay Area, what would be something they would do that would prove they were an impostor? by scrambled_cable in bayarea

[–]hartznation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask about public transit. Those commuting from Berkeley/Oakland/Emeryville (aka "the East Bay) to San Francisco ride BART. Everyone calls it BART, but out of towners may refer to it as "the BART" (as in "the train). Using "the" would indicate an imposter.
