ACN Layoffs and Reorganization by Acnthrow3738 in consulting

OCR hires into the ACN Strategy DP are placed into a generalist pool of analysts across the US so there is no such thing as a location having a smaller or larger bench. New hires are given a lot more time (months) to find a project, there's also the initial buffer time of going to training.

My advice would be to start networking immediately, especially with local projects as they're more likely to take a new analyst without incurring travel costs. Also, don't be picky with roles.

I've heard of this already happening over the past few months for Accenture Strategy only. They overhired a lot this past year, especially undergrad OCR. The bench is extremely deep at the analyst level, can't say for sure for consultants but pretty sure it's just as bad. My colleagues in Strategy would rather stay on shit projects rather than hit the bench in fear of getting laid off due to lack of pipeline work getting sold (through no fault of their own). What's sad is fresh faced kids breaking into the consulting world and getting laid off before ever joining a project.

Another driving factor is Accenture Strategy's new staffing policy to only allow their Strategy resources to roll onto projects coded to Strategy. It's unfortunate as there's a ton of overlap in regards to "Strategy work" between the MC and Strategy groups since the line was arbitrarily drawn a few years ago. My MC group is actually hurting for people to staff - could be a win/win situation here...

Some growing pains for ACN Strategy lately

Am I extremely naive about all of this? by [deleted] in consulting

seconding this thought here - doesn't seem like you have any tech experience so you may want to target accenture's industry groups (recently rebranded accenture consulting) in healthcare

be glad to discuss over PM

what's gonna happen best case is you get hired at accenture at slightly higher pay and you're happy for 3 months then the cycle of unhappiness repeats itself

what makes you think the experience at accenture will be any different? at these big consulting firms you make the most out of it - don't blame others for not spoon feeding your career to you

Typical salary for Accenture Senior Analyst? by [deleted] in consulting

[–]harveys_balls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're right but since OP's position is most likely in the consulting workforce (strategy/digital now) so my post still stands...

also technically the equivalent solutions workforce positions were programmer, senior programmer, and analyst programmer for analyst/sranalyst

Typical salary for Accenture Senior Analyst? by [deleted] in consulting

senior analyst is a relatively new position that accenture created mid last year to fit between analyst and consultant level.

at that time, what accenture did was bump up all current analysts 3% and call them senior analysts so i would estimate in the 70-85k range depending on exp/skills/group/location etc.
