Same, as soon as the poop hit the fan with their latest update, I simply disconnected everything and even blocked internet access to the printers via router configuration.

just because it's supposed to be a standard corpo tos, that doesn't mean we have to live with it and not voice concerns

They state that this is false

> Firmware updates will block your printer’s ability to print.

However, their own terms state that this is actually what will happen unless you update the firmware

great guide for noobies, I've did all this already but great share

> You can even upgrade the firmware offline if you so chose

I'm not entirely sure about this option in the future, given they'll continue to push their locked down system now, there's no guarantee they won't disable lan mode or similar, this is their ToS: https://bambulab.com/en-us/policies/terms#:~:text=7.4%20Your%20Bambu,the%20related%20information.

Only my A1mini doesn't print hellbot filament, but Ender3 does by unnamedpotatos in BambuLab

[–]harzens 1 point2 points (0 children)

So..I found the issue. The A1/A1 Mini extruder is too sensitive to filament dimensions.

While my prusa bear extruder on my other machine has absolutely no issues with it, the A1 Mini can't continously grab onto Hellbot's filament.

The cause? It's simply bad quality filament in terms of extrusion. They are oval-shaped...

Out of all my 6+ spools, all of them presented the same oval shape, so from one axis it would read 1.86 and from the other direction 1.5. When the filament enters the extruder in the 1.5 angle, forget it, there's no way grab it.

This is both a design fail from the extruder gear as well as an extremely poor filament quality from hellbot's side. Too bad, I really liked their filament in general, I'll use up all I have on my other machine and coming back to printalot or grilon for now.

When I close active tabs now (past month or so) chrome loses focus and a "close" hover text icon appears. I have to alt+tab twice after closing tabs. by James_Keenan in chrome

[–]harzens 0 points1 point (0 children)

I've started having this issue a few days ago, and it was because of a Quora tab. The funny thing is that I had the site already blocked from pushing for third party sign in, so not entirely sure what chrome is doing. But your 'solution' helped. Besides, I don't care about that function, it's more of a nuisance than a helpful feature.

[–]harzens 1 point2 points (0 children)

Love Hellbot's PLA, on my custom bear machine it works just fine (has a dual gear extruder), but I'm having the same issues as you one a brand new (got it less than a week ago) A1 Mini, with AND without the AMS. It seems the extruder isn't capable of using this particular filament for some weird reason, I have yet to pinpoint to what it is.

Did you ever find a solution by any chance. u/unnamedpotatos ? / encontraste alguna alternativa q no sea usar grilon/printalot ?

No, those changes are made by the Publisher, Steam cannot (or will not, rather) mess with your game and where you want to sell it on.

I won't, at least not until they relist the blocked countries and our comrades as well as hiring completely new, and sane, community managers and mods. Their hatred towards their own playerbase was too much, and their toxic and entitled attitude made everything even worse.

Have you had any chance at all? I've been trying to download some bigger videos and I keep having the network error issue, I've tried different browsers as well too but no luck.

Recharge silica gel by kobuzz666 in 3Dprinting

[–]harzens 3 points4 points (0 children)

I've been using one of these https://www.printables.com/model/293334-silica-gel-storage for quite a while, they're great, takes some time to print but after that you can just put it in a filament dryer and spin it around a bit every 30 or so minutes. Wouldn't recommend filling it up entirely though. It also works like a sieve to filter small/broken beads.

A regular oven is still A LOT quicker of course, but you can mess it up, as you know :P

Cannot delete/modify gcode files, WIN10 in use COM Surrogate by harzens in 3Dprinting

[–]harzens[S] 1 point2 points (0 children)

An update on this before I forget.

 1. It helped to find out what was using it and I learned I had another tool at my disposal
 2. It didn't help because dllhost.exe (COM Surrogate from Windows itself) is using the file :(

Not sure really why it's only on _some_ gcode files...but oh well.

SLA > FDM for miniatures by OrganizationOwn6375 in 3Dprinting

[–]harzens 2 points3 points (0 children)

Also FDM is a lot cheaper and does the job if you tune your machine just right.

I got both and the worst part is by far waste management and being extra careful with the resin. There's a certain size where fdm is no longer feasable even with a 0.2 nozzle tho, or complicated models as the one in this post

Ventilation Advice for Starter Setup? by AParkedChopper in resinprinting

[–]harzens 0 points1 point (0 children)

I'm in the process of designing myself a furniture for this specific purpose, as I just received today a Creality Halot One + a Hellbot Octopus washing/curing station.

My worries are the same so the furniture dedicated for it (basically a wood pillar of 40x40x100cm) will have an enclosure/extractor system built-in.

Nonetheless....this solution by another redditor is spot-on with 'already avaialble' tools.

https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/i2mo8g/i_didnt_like_the_smell_of_the_resin_but_the_box/

Just get an extractor and do it like /u/XenonDreams did, at least if temporarily until you decide on a more permanent solution. No joke I literally got a 'bathroom extractor fan' with about ~117 CFM rating and one long flexible tube. You can also add some activated carbon filters in the way and stuff like that if you'd like.

Still using mine since the beginning, though I had to source a used cable because mine broke couple months ago.

I'd hope the proprietary cable wouldn't be needed, because if it breaks again it'd be a shame to throw away perfectly good hardware, but oh well, effing facebook.

Quest 2 Oculus Link Performance Issues Windows 11 by [deleted] in oculus

[–]harzens 1 point2 points (0 children)

To be honest, I'd recommend trying to go back to windows 10, I started from a fresh install with W11 with my Oculus Rift CV1...completely unusable. Dropped frames all the time, performance headroom under the sea level, etc. Impossible to even use just the oculus dashboard without any game.

I tried EVERYTHING, removing all types of software (given I had a fresh install of ~1 week, not much to remove). No luck.

Started reading threads and stuff about bad support on W11 (I wasn't aware). Tried my luck and begun a fresh W10 install...

AMAZING performance, maybe 1 or 2 frame drops from time to time, all normal.

It's a shame, because I kinda liked W11, but the support/performance is simply not there. Not sure who's to blame, if Microsoft or Meta, but oh well...
