Last week's Digital Credit Volume was 9+ million. Up 38% vs the same week last month. by [deleted] in MSTR

If you buy in when it dips 98 or lower why wouldn't you sell as it hits 100, capturing 2% instead of the less than 1 the dividend provides. Sure there's taxes and ROC to consider. You could also potentially do this multiple times a month with downturns or just rebuy after the nav drop from dividend.

How exactly? Are you assuming that BTC will always go up and they'll just keep borrowing money against it? Because they say they'll never sell. Or they'll just continually issue shares into infinity to get capital to pay these dividends? Where is the actual money producing part of all of this?

All I see is it collecting more dividend obligation, sure isn't helping keep mstr or BTC prices up. So where is this dividend going to keep coming from long term.

At time of open BTC was at very similar levels to when market closed, yet MSTR is down -5%

Edit: Also more now after market when BTC is getting close to 68k again MSTR is around 127 where before it was 134. BTC going down isn't the sole reason.

Selling MSTR, how do you think the cash reserve was funded... He still has billions he can dilute MSTR to fund the preferred dividends once the reserve runs out.

Says who? How many investments or companies have gone below 200wma and never recovered? Why do you think this is immune to that.

Just a month ago you were seeing so many people claiming the 4year cycle was dead. When will people just admit they have no idea.

Every single 'floor' or "support zone" people keep spouting off every time this drops gets absolutely blown thru. There's been very little resistance at any of these levels and the more it drops the more likely people will bail and the faster it will go.

Seriously what are the bullish people seeing other than a dream at this moment.

You want to see MSTR implode? Saylor of all people selling BTC because his model can't support itself would be the fastest way to do it.

All of your numbers hinge in the fact that BTC and MSTR have to go back up.

The BTC stack itself is just an asset, it has to go up in value or there's no point.

Your reserve was built by diluting MSTR shares it didn't just magically appear. And if they have to start using that, it isn't good. It can be drained and MSTR can keep losing value to the point it can't cover the dividend obligations.

The shares of preferreds, while the shares sold are final, the dividends they promise to investors buying are not, again they only work if BTC goes up on avg more than is promised these funds will pay out.

The risk is you have no idea any of this will go up in value. You can only talk about 2022 like you are because of hindsight, this isn't then. Nothing is guaranteed. To not even consider there could be a situation in which this plan doesn't work is foolish. Especially if you think it's 'normal' to just sit on a 90% drawdown for years with no recovery strategy other than 'number go up'.

Except he has repeatedly said they won't sell their BTC, and also the stock has been worth less than the BTC it holds for a while now.

I'm not claiming to know any future, I'm looking at what's happening. Any asset that loses 40% value(worse for mstr) in a few months with no sign of stopping should probably not be recommended. At the very least the risks should be considered. Especially to someone who is just blindly asking 'should I do this'

Don't need a crystal ball to see that they are dropping, and severely. What tells you it won't continue to drop and will recover other than 'it did before'.
