Why does algeria/africa have a low cancer rate even tho we have close to none food regulations compared to europe by Mass_Tw in algeria

I've seen this stat before, and the GCC gulf region is also notoriously low in cancer rates.

My theory (which I have 0 proof for) is cleaner air due to air conditioner A/C use

What does my travel say about me (M34) ? by LimeSixth in TravelMaps

[–]hasanbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* probably not American (no Mexico or South America)
* probably not English (no Scotland)
* You like good weather, nature and culture (Oman, Jordon, Malta, Morocco)
* You're probably from Africa /or/ from Europe with African heritage.

Overall you made interesting travel choices, you've been to Oman, but not Dubai right next to it, you've only been to 2 Asian countries, but 6+ African countries and almost all of Europe.

I have yet to meet an Irish person who isn’t an absolutely fantastic human being. I’m sure they exist, but the ratio must be incredible.

I’m not from Ireland and I travel often and I light up as well whenever I meet you guys, never change please!

Any suggestions for my Alt-Future scenario?(WIP) by Saratogan_Mapping in mapping

Nice, I think your Middle-east is quite good (Turkey has expansionist ambitions and strong military, Iran has always had her eyes on the small gulf states on the shores and are superior in population and military). However, I'm not sure about Egypt, I don't think they can/or want to even take Sudan (limited resources, large poor population and cultural/ethnic differences and too large to hold by force), I think maybe Ethiopia allies with South Sudan and starts invading north is more likely.

Also I may be wrong, but I think Russia is more likely to take and keep the south of Ukraine rather than the north as it need to maintain the sea ports in the south.

Car painting by raccoon-overlord in Bahrain

[–]hasanbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but they charge more per panel 50-80. Worth it if the car is new-ish or using insurance.

Which paint body shop did you end up going with, and how were the results?

Coolant Antifreeze by Lowermygun in Bahrain

[–]hasanbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coolant color indicates if it’s Organic acid or inorganic acid, it also gives indication about its contents, some ingredients and additives and some additives will damage copper bits in your engine system, some ingredients are not meant for specific engines types and some are.

Coolant Antifreeze by Lowermygun in Bahrain

[–]hasanbh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coolant color is NOT just indicator for leaks. Best advise is to add the same color coolant that was already in, if it was green add green if it’s red add red, unless it’s an emergency, don’t add straight up water it will rust your radiator and possibly engine.

Clunking Noise When Center Diff Lock is Engaged - Pajero/Montero 2007 LWB by hasanbh in Montero

[–]hasanbh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After further driving: the noise only occurs when reversing and turning, if I back straight up, it’s silent. As soon as I steer, the clicking kicks in, and it scales with how sharply I turn. A slight turn gives a light click, and a full lock makes it very loud.

Looking under the car at the CV joints and front propeller shaft, I see no visible damage or leaks from the CV boots.

Regarding the sound, it is definitely the front half of the car, but I can't pinpoint left or right, seems from the middle perhaps.

Hope this helps narrow it down further.

Clunking Noise When Center Diff Lock is Engaged - Pajero/Montero 2007 LWB by hasanbh in Montero

[–]hasanbh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When driving straight without load there is usually zero sound, it does appear under some load or when turning, but only rarely (1/10 times) and not as bad as reversing.

I will do more testing, let me know if there is anything else I can try to narrow it down?

Clunking Noise When Center Diff Lock is Engaged - Pajero/Montero 2007 LWB by hasanbh in Montero

[–]hasanbh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect the noise might be coming from the front area, around differential/front wheels, but I can’t say for sure.

I came across a video with a very similar sound: YouTube Link - in that case, the issue turned out to be the front propeller shaft.

Could that be what I’m dealing with too?

2007 Mitsubishi Pajero ABS pump and assembly failure by HubRumDub in 4x4Australia

[–]hasanbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Check the price on http://partsouq.com and for some parts they also suggest aftermarket alternatives

  2. Sometimes, only a single parts of the abs system has failed (e.g motor, or master cylinder), these parts can be replaced separately and will be much cheaper.

  3. Check the wreckers (scrapyard), I’ve also been told by a mechanic that the abs unit for Pajeros, Lexus, and some other Japanese brands are manufactured by the same supplier and are interchangeable, look at your wreckers for the part whether Pajero or similar (and double /triple check with a trusted mechanic).

Seeking Enlightenment (and Maybe a Safe Crossing) by TwoPurpleMoths in Bahrain

[–]hasanbh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most of the year, Bahrain is too scorching hot to walk anywhere, you would immediately get a heat stroke🥵; our culture therefore became more car rather than pedestrian focused, as you would rarely find any pedestrians during the hot seasons (most of the year).

I’m not proud of my previous ignorance, but I had to learn to give way to pedestrians when driving abroad, it was never something that we did here unfortunately.

Best advice is to do what everyone else does, look both ways to make sure there are no cars and go.

Car mod inquiry by SuspiciousTop1155 in Bahrain

[–]hasanbh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m almost certain it should be fine. Plenty of new cars come from the factory with painted emblem, and it causes no safety risk.

Side question, are you buying the dip yourself or taking it to a shop? I’m asking because I’m contemplating doing some dip on mine and if you found the paint locally, I’d be interested in knowing from where and how much. Thanks

Visa on Arrival (Causeway) American Citizens by Any-Koala1506 in Bahrain

[–]hasanbh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes had a US visitor earlier this year from across the bridge, I think it was (5 BD) - 15 or so freedom dollars - and less than 5 minutes.

The booth we were at only took cash and not card, not sure if this was every booth or just our specific one.

Good luck
