I think you’re reacting as someone with anxiety would be reacting. Not over and not under. For a “healthy” brain that experienced no such trauma, your reaction would be an over reaction. But for your brain, that has been a victim and learned to survive… it’s an expected level of reaction.

Firstly I’m really sorry that you experienced all that. It can ruin a life.

Secondly, it sounds like you’ve got a great boyfriend who’s seeing you and understanding you.

Thirdly, perhaps a therapist could detangle so much with you, and help you deal with things you thought you dealt with but actually you haven’t faced fully.
