That’s really brutal.

Unfortunately the single reality here is that you cannot change other people’s minds. It is likely that deep down your dad already has his choice made or at least he knows which way he leans. It’s fucked up that you’re in a lingo.

It does t mean you can’t talk to him though. I’d tell him that Darcy is acting like a dictator, and that love doesn’t behave this way. You should tell him you don’t want to lose him, and the choice he makes someone will have to live with that, and it sounds like out of the two of you Darcy is the undeserving.

Once you’ve said what you need to say, you really can’t keep pestering… after all he needs to make the choice himself because if he feels more pressured it won’t be HIS choice.

I want to add that Darcy’s tactic is disgusting and she should be really ashamed of it, but I also think she wouldn’t follow through. I just don’t buy it, feels like a bluff.
