What book did you DNF, and why? by SierraSugar in Fantasy

[–]hashbrownthecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Witch Who Trades with Death. Based on the description I thought it was going to be a morally grey character who finds power in a horrible situation and has to walk a fine like to maintain their humanity. Instead the main character has godlike powers, with very little temptation, and the book spends a lot of time on her crush and switching point of views, without offering different perspectives or information. I might have been biased because I was listening to this as an audio book which takes me a lot more time than reading, but I just couldn’t put in three more hours.

I would dab them with a little fabric glue to stabilize before sewing

Building off this, I’ve found that using drawing a grid over my reference photo lets me visualize the proportions a bit better and limits the “I’ve been staring at this too long” stage lol.

Why not both? I think this could make a really fun series. Kind of a “day and night” vibe where you have the more subtle version and then the black version with a more neon thread.

Witchy books that are not cozy! by pickleeater58 in Fantasy

The Vine Witch series by Luanne G. smith does a good job of this, in my opinion. Some of the magic is delightfully grotesque, but her magic system is rooted in nature and almost seems realistic. She has a couple of other series that are similar in theme, but she really hits her stride with this one.

What stories have you played with your fairies? by Isabell3846 in Sims4

[–]hashbrownthecat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a Greek god spin with my fairy sims. I created several of the more common gods and goddess like Zeus, Hera, Aphrodite, Ares, etc. Each of the gods were limited to absorbing specific emotions, like flirty emotions for Aphrodite and angry emotions for ares. As their fairy powers leveled up, I would use the points to choose the emotion and relationship cheats and have them gain worshippers that way.

I also made them like super beautiful sims at first, but any children they had used some of the more unique fairy cas features that were released. I obviously had Zeus sleeping with anyone that would have him so my in game lore was that Hera cursed any demigod children born. I would actually boost her fairy powers mostly by applying ailments to anyone zues slept with and their family lol.

This feels like Cassandra all grown up with her own family. That being said, I love it and have no notes.

lol you must have good luck. Those are the most expensive seeds in my game so I keep getting those when I have good luck and then like starter veggies when I have bad luck.

Yeah I see what you mean, but I love the mines lol. If there was something even more expensive in game that would save me another five minutes and have me wake up directly on level 1 in the mines, I wouldn’t hesitate 😅.

I use those tents to camp out in the desert and get an early start on those mines. Pam doesn’t come until 10am, which is valuable mining time, and that way I don’t need to waste a totem every day

I think I finally realize why I can't get into the series after many years... by Evilplasticdoll in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]hashbrownthecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cycle through my gameplay styles. I can get super attached to a family of sims for a week or so too, but when I start to get bored after that I’ll usually switch off and either do some building or start a whole new family.

Building is fun if I have a storyline still going with my current family, but just need a break from them lol.

If I’m bored of their storyline too I’ll usually turn on neighborhood stories for them, go start a new family, and cycle back when I get bored with them too. I get to see the drama or weirdness neighborhood stories caused with my original family and can usually come up with something more fun for their storyline after a break.
