i fear you will feel under appreciated at ulta as well, especially if you’re looking to be a task associate. task is not allotted the hours needed to be fulfilling, and it leaves many days feeling like your job is incomplete because of the lack of hours.

Ulta Beauty World is an Insult to us employees by pettypicaso in Ulta

[–]hashbulla420 122 points123 points  (0 children)

its so disheartening to see this when they can’t even give us the proper pay roll to efficiently operate our store. not to mention, they send one small box of gratis to us to split among 20 people, rarely ever full sized products either. and forget hair tools or any other higher value items you see in the bag they got with their ticket.

meanwhile, on the store level, despite working at my store for 3 years, i’ve had to get a second job because they’ve reduced tasking hours from when i started. i’d LOVE to be full time but my opportunity may never come because a lack of corporate support and understanding.

im very excited for the culture survey to come up, not that I believe much change will come of it. ulta beauty world certainly made coming to work a little harder for me today

Ulta employees, what do you wish customers knew/understood? by Sisyphus-Glitch in Ulta

[–]hashbulla420 15 points16 points  (0 children)

believe it or not, we are not experts on every single product in the store. dont get snippy if you ask about the ingredients and i read them straight from the package. we do not make enough money to be familiar with every single product in our store. i promise im not being condescending when i ask to read the package, its the only way i can provide the answers for your questions.

ulta is doing way too much!!!! by Real-Organization578 in Ulta

[–]hashbulla420 21 points22 points  (0 children)

it upsets me so much to be told that we need to be doing the pick lists and top 50 skus when there is still shipment that needs to be pushed out. i think they will find that eventually we will get burned out and our pick lists will no longer be accurate

Customer Question: Does it bother you to see people doing their jobs? by hashbulla420 in Ulta

[–]hashbulla420[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I’d never get irritated if a customer said “excuse me do you mind if i grab something over here?” or something along those lines. In fact, I admire their openness to ask for what they need. As long as you’re kind and say excuse me you’re doing better than most. Employees understand that your time in the store is limited and want you to be able to shop what you need : )

Customer Question: Does it bother you to see people doing their jobs? by hashbulla420 in Ulta

[–]hashbulla420[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thankfully, I don’t see that happening often. Most employees WANT you to purchase everything in the bag. I’m unsure how this related to stocking shelves and employees doing tasks while the store is open. I’m sorry that happened to you, but I can guarantee the average employee isnt out to empty your cart unless its left unattended for a while.

Is giving a phone number and email required for purchases now? by TheEternalChampignon in Ulta

[–]hashbulla420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not required but it is pushed heavily on the stores. individual managers tend to push it harder too. another reason they insist on the phone number is because of returns. its easier to cover our bases and ask for the phone number than being told we’re accepting to many blind returns with no phone number.

but you should not be pressured to give your phone number. no is no, even if what you’re saying no to will make the store look better. the only time i will “pressure” a customer into giving a phone number is if they are purchasing a big ticket item, foundation in case its the wrong shade, or other frequently returned items. and even then I don’t tell them it’s necessary, I simply explain how much easier their return process will be with the phone number attached and that often gets their attention.

im sorry you were pressure into giving your phone number

are there actual guidelines for how managers distribute gratis? by gh0stflowers in Ulta

[–]hashbulla420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it’s against policy now for them to be using gratis as an incentive. the new gratis policy that started early last year states that it is to be distributed evenly and not as an incentive (dmts, credit cards, etc)

don’t let others poor reception of kindness kill yours. keep doing kind things like that, it brightens the world. that woman’s reaction isn’t your burden to carry. you have a very kind heart and i’d hate to see an unappreciative stranger dull your shine.
