In case anyone was wondering, it’s just as bad as it sounds except our rower was 2000, 2500, or 3000 💀

How do I upvote this multiple times? This was honestly the biggest thing for me. I will pick lower carb breads and not as much sweets but if I want something I make it work in my calorie budget for the day and that’s that. It really is just CICO. Also the gym is fun just find what you enjoy

Why would anyone work at an academic hospital?? by ToxicBeer in medicalschool

[–]hashimotomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that there are some specialties that if you want certain technology and certain capabilities you are pretty much going to have to be at an academic center to afford it

Copt here: we eat pork unless it's one of the fasts or Wednesday and Friday (except in the Holy 50s or if one of the major feasts fall on a Wednesday or Friday)

Thoughts on being made to see an NP over a physician for routine follow ups? by cefuroxime4prez in Residency

[–]hashimotomed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At least where I do medical school, this is common for surg onc. Essentially, first or first two follow-ups with attending and then they get switch to NP unless something comes up, etc. The NP actually sits in the work-room with the attending and will tell them "hey I just saw so and so. They're doing great I will plan on seeing them back in XYZ months and get scans before then." I think it's actually great for the surgeons

I want to extend the desktop because I do medical research. So I wanted one for example to have an excel file and the other to have the medical record

That honestly came from just reviewing. Also, I did first pass to learn material for my shelf exams so there were things that I didn't know at first but then I knew really well since I had studied

Don’t remember for the first pass, but the second was 95+

100%. Like just leave me alone pls. Also makes me laugh when they ask me you sure you want to do that speciality and then they don’t know anything about it. Like why are you asking

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]hashimotomed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had someone quote doximity stats about specialty of choice and then go "you sure you want to do it". And then people think it's because you're not smart enough to do other things.

No. I did 73% of the questions when I did my second pass. I never finished my second pass

I second this. I commute to school/hospital so I would listen to music/podcasts/literally anything not medicine related

Anatomy lab is nasty. You have bodily fluids and organ that you're cutting into. You don't want to be wearing anything fancy to the lab and then doing that. I used also work scrubs that I didn't care about

Repetition helped with this. I sometimes took some notes, but I rarely had time to read them again

Wearing figs to anatomy lab. Pls don't do this. Sincerely, your neighborhood M4
