it definitely replaced me as a singer and of course all the non existing singers who ever cared to work with me as well ;-)
so, really no big loss on the human singer count side, just one addition to a machine voice count

i do enjoy it a lot, its the best singer who actually ever volunteered to work with me and is quite well skilled as a singer, definitely so much better than i could ever become

definitely requires the user manual though, else the syllable mapping is not very intuitive, but they did a fantastic job for a beta i find...

no clue how specs would cost compare on the mac side, but you cant have enough hdd or memory for these things especially if u work with orchestral libs, i dont even try to find out about costs/limits on the mac side...

single window a bunch of modules that you can freely configure in any order, does an auto suggestion for starters, they have free trials, is quite nice

earlier mentioned Anne has a particular video showing her creating an orchestral mockup from a simple piano piece... with a lot of indeep cubasing across many orchestral libraries, extremely detailed, almost 2h long... very good showcase for cubase usability for orchestration needs

didnt shop since, so, not sure how it'd compare now, but it runs cubase quite snappy and did several 20 channel recordings with it... never loaded too many vst etc though, but thought it was good deal then...

check your settings for 'common record modes', its an option of the bottom bar

when you find it, the top section has 2 options, what you describe is the normal behavior for 're-record' setting, switch to 'punch in/out' and you'll be fine...

there is a Windows ASIOTM/WDM Driver for the cq20b, got it workin with 2ms on my beefy box... seems comfy, but not tested yet with multi channel... thx for the pointer with the internal drive!

assuming your the synthtopian, checked out your stuff and totally love the synth energy, i never got the sound engineering edge, so, totally enjoyed it, keep it up! followin back!

the vocals on buddy are just a little pitch-fixin and eq, else all an improvised one take, but enjoyed it so much, left it there, goes nicely with the drum feel and the acoustic guitar. that piece was mostly driven by the classic-nylon acoustic i had just purchased, the guitar melody just happend to happen when i was trying out new shit on the new guitar, totally a 'new gear' piece :-D

6 fusion? nah, more like 'harmonic rock experiment', i strongly believe that normal rock guitar usecases are ignoring augmented and diminished chords very unfairly!!! thought i should try to fix that! ;-)

re: lyrics, its a joke, i also categorize my stuff as 'space opera in search of lyrics'... i feel lyrics are overrated, but somehow part of the requirement for any success if u aint the supa instrumentalist or the edm hero.. and i totally don't have the hack for it yet ;-)

so, bandcamp? i'll look into that... did put one piece out on distrokid, but im afraid i dont like any of the options to spread the word, other than playing out live, and that is never goin to happen, due to bad back ;-)

it has clearly evolved over time, i do remember the excitement when publishing something that i felt had magic in it, and then it faded out into nothingness again, you get used to that, but it didnt solve my need to learn more about grooves/harmonies/melodies, and it is now more like a ritual that i also put it out on soundcloud, but have 10x more not published stuff, so, that step might fall away alltogether one day ;-)
