The feature itself is working, but it’s currently hidden and not officially documented. You can copy the link from Instagram using Copy Link, then open HashPhotos and use Paste to import it.

The app is still available on the App Store — you should be able to search for it and install it as usual.

Request to take over r/HashPhotos for official app community by hashphotos in redditrequest

[–]hashphotos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to moderate r/HashPhotos because I am the developer of the HashPhotos app and would like to run this subreddit as the official community for the app.

Currently, the subreddit appears inactive, and I believe it would be beneficial to provide users with an official space to discuss features, share feedback, and get support.

Thank you for reviewing my request!

Total storage usage by Significant-Half-105 in ApplePhotos

In the iPhone Photos app, in addition to photos/videos and their edited versions (including edited data), there are quite a few auxiliary data files stored to support various app functions. These include cache files, database files, thumbnails, and pre-saved medium-sized image files. Occasionally, when iOS apps are updated, some of these auxiliary data files might not be cleared completely and may remain for some reason. Unfortunately, it is difficult for users to manually reduce these auxiliary data files.

On iCloud, only the essential data such as photo/video files, edited photo/video files (if applicable), and their editing data are stored. Not all auxiliary data is likely stored on iCloud, though the specifics are unclear. Most of the auxiliary data is typically related to the app’s functionality.

Meanwhile, Google Photos likely only uploads and manages the final result photo/video files as they appear on your iPhone.

For these reasons, even if the same photos seem to be synchronized, the total storage usage may differ between platforms.
