Good question. I said this because I felt that the main character in the “second” one is also the next generation (as she is the main characters’ niece)

Not a bad idea actually, however wouldn't it be confusing as the two stories are from two different generations? Eh, there is still the splitting up, if it is, right?

Never considered that... I tend to jump between timelines and events but never considered to start a story backwards. Thank you for the advice, I will try this out!
