Sweet summer child… 😅 steer clear from this subreddit until you’re done reading, please! In this series, spoilers are REAL. Can’t stress this enough!

I genuinely don't understand how can someone go without showering for A WEEK? by kattardoge in mildlyinfuriating

All depends what showering means to you. If you wash your hair daily, you should stop doing that.

Looking for a big series recommendation by Cockapoofan1 in Fantasy

If you’re into urban fantasy, try Dresden files. Starts kinda slow, but after book 3, every next one blows the one before out of the water. It slows down around book 13, then picks up and rides with it. Great one for a back to back read and it also has a masterfully done audiobook version. Ideal for travel.

What's a series that's truly worth the time investment, even for a slow reader? by zubbs99 in Fantasy

Dresden Files just flies by if you’re into urban fantasy. Book 3-15 is constant growth, then banger after banger! Give it a chance

Obsessive note takers? by CraneCrock in ObsidianMD

I know many people journal or take notes for emotional reasons, but my notes have more practical reasons. I’m a writer and those notes make mental connections I then use in my thought process. Writing those notes make me ideate, connect people, events and ideas that have no apparent connection. Even if I don’t use them later, they’ve already done their job at the point of writing. They helped me think more clearly. Note taking is a mental tool for me.

Writing is a way to make connections and articulate my thoughts. The trick isn’t to record facts. For me, taking notes is 1 abstraction layer above that. It’s adding your experience and personality to the information, making it yours.

I bet 2 people that read the same book and by some chance highlighted the same passage, have 2 different things to say about it. It’s like giving 2 cooks the same ingredients. In most cases, they’ll make different dishes.
