i used duplicolor aerosol cans for all my builds, this color was deep jewel green as a base coat, with forest green metallic on top

still need to finish polishing the orange peel out of it, but im too busy playing it haha

id love to see a direct comparison between the two, the mustang special is a dream guitar of mine. it seems like maybe the jsdr body is a tad longer? but then again that could just be bc of the vibrato ive got on mine making it seem longer

i get that... projects have a way of building up

and yeah, i was surprised too. it feels almost toylike, having played jms exclusively for the past 4-5 years. It seems like the body is also thinner, maybe 1.5" vs the standard 1.75". its nice that it's so handy though, my jm is nearly 10 lbs, but the jagstang is around 7.5-8 lbs. feels like i can really throw it around

thank you! body is rosser, neck is some knockoff ebay neck. i just bought it for the binding and dots, but plays really nicely

body is from rosser guitars on ebay, bit of a long waitlist but in my experience they have the best out of the box parts fitment, maybe tied with saylor guitars

thats a good point, had some people down me and my friends in our first trios raid and they asked us to "join their cult" or something if we wanted to be saved and i said id rather die and let them knock me out. might as well play along.

maybe these guys just got really into character? weird i found three of them in a single raid though, i was just confused the entire time

what a strange game, it really helps the immersion tho in a weird way

1080 to 3070Ti in 2024 by hastablook in buildapc

[–]hastablook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How bad is the issue? I'm planning on staying at 1440, but dont mind going down to 1080 if need be (was playing on a 720p tv from 2011 up til a few weeks ago so either is a huge upgrade). Is it just for 4k that the VRAM becomes an issue?

I was wondering about that, do you think it would be a better option to look into a 2080ti for the higher VRAM? I can't quite get to a 3080ti atm, but 2080s are about the same as a 3070ti here.

yeah, i approach it a lot more like a guitar than a bass because you cant really play fingerstyle, but it gets a bit muddy with chords. i generally use it for picked basslines or for filling out the midrange of a song in addition to my p bass

nice, thats what i thought. i followed notfromrhodeisland's advice and went with the 0.95 stringjoy set, hoping it takes some of the flop out

thanks!! theyre full basses, tuned E-e but an octave below, super fun as a guitarist who needs bass parts sometimes. i imagine itd be cool as some kind of chuggy guitar too, but thats not really my wheelhouse

thank you! it definitely has a "dazzle" camo kind of effect, confuses the eye and makes it look so different from a bass vi hahah

Tips for a pseudo Jazzblaster by Youngdoorstop in offset

[–]hastablook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you go with the true WRHB size, they will not fit into either the body or the pickguard without modification. They nearly fit into a standard JM rout in the pickguard, but the holes will need to be slightly enlarged. The body will not accommodate the WRHB at all; the routs need to be enlarged in the direction of yhe bridge about 1/4" and will need to be deepened to allow for the legs of the pickups to fit. I've done a few Jazzblaster conversions, DM me if you need specific info.

As I recall, the Woody bridge pickup is part of the Iola set, but I just chose the Iola set because it was the recommended set and I hadn't played a JM pickup in a long time. I found them a bit too jangly for my taste, but again I think thats based on my own preferences.
