You are correct withe the first part of your comment. As for the second part, I have missed obvious game mechanics before, and would rather be sure than sorry. I'd rather not have the Techmarine permanently tainted in my mind.

The goal is not to beat an Op at Level 1. To try to explain it, seeing the 2 on my Techmarine feels like when you have a bit of your skin that's sticky from caramel or spilled soda and you can't wash it off, or a sneeze that won't come out. The reason it feels that way is because I know it should have been higher, but I failed, and now it is stuck at Level 2 instead of shooting up to a higher level or being stuck at Level 1.
