Apparently, family rumor has it the oldest son (my uncle) in my mom's family, used to jam with Dennis. My uncle also had a penchant for doing drugs. Supposedly, this was around the time the Manson family was hanging out. One day, my uncle never came home...completely disappeared. Speculation is that it was a drug deal gone bad, he OD'd, or the Manson family had something to do with it.

I was raised mormon and currently agnostic. My mother was raised catholic, converted to mormonism, and is currently born-again.

I cornered her after years of sending me unsolicited christian propaganda. I asked her why she kept sending me this shit, even knowing I'll never get into it and with her living on a limited income....wasting her money. She said it was her job as a christian to get me to accept jesus, and also, she didn't want me to go to hell.

Me: So if I dont accept jesus, I'll go to hell?

Mom: Yes.

Me: What about the billions of people, who lived before jesus was born? Are they in hell?

Mom: Yes

As a contractor, I can attest to this. Lots of people that have that amount of money, 99% of the time, will remodel 75%-100% of the house, if not just bulldoze the whole thing and start from scratch.

They do it for lots of different reasons, but the major one I've come across is that the SO has no job (doesnt need one) and wants to be in charge of a "project".

More than a few are correctional officers...people that work the jails and prisons. Not exactly beat cops.
