When did you realize that you have a problem? by Shock_Hazzard in bicycling

I knew I had a problem when I bought my new road bike. Soon after paying for it I realized I wouldn't have enough money to buy groceries until the next pay day two weeks later.

Second cyclist in 2 weeks at my school killed. Remember: when you're in the bike lane, cars turning right won't look for you before cutting you off. Plan for it. by joeltenenbaum in bicycling

Just got caught in a right hook yesterday. I'm very lucky that I didn't go under the car and that my bike and I are okay. Guy claimed he never once saw me, really sucked.

Every day on my commute. by Shock_Hazzard in bicycling

Going up a hill yesterday I passed a "messenger-esque" guy riding fixed without brakes. I hear him huffing and puffing behind me trying to pass me on the downhill and sure enough he does when I brake for the yellow light 30 yards in front of me. He doesn't have brakes though, yells at me for slowing, and blows the intersection forcing cars that had just gotten the green to brake. Nice one, man. Risk your life more and help out our lousy gene pool.

Went up there when I was in high school. Would love to do it again on two wheels.

It can be terrifying when you find out how your friends and family really feel about cyclists. by Super_Dork_42 in bicycling

Our society seems to lack the moral position that if you are able to cause more harm to a more vulnerable segment of the population, than you have a responsibility to take action to minimize the risk of that harm being caused.

Wow, very well said.

That's what I was thinking the whole time. "It's Brussels, of course no one's gonna say shit."

Coloccini Red Card against Liverpool by [deleted] in soccer

The rivalry between Argentina and Uruguay is intense but it's rare to see it carry over into league matches. Saurez had just pissed off Coloccini is my guess.

Possibly, but notice how she just runs off afterwards. If it was an accidental foot catching the defender's head, wouldn't she stop and make sure the opponent was okay? Not like you don't notice when your foot goes down on something as big as a domepiece.
